Unfortunately, I have to say I give up on this Applebee's. I was there for a work lunch two weeks ago, and my order was inedible (overcooked shrimp and steak to the point it wasn't chewable. I took it as, everyone is entitled to a bad day...left no review or complaint behind. However tonight, tells me, it isn't a one time thing.
Arrived tonight with a friend before a movie Got there two hours before the movie. You'd think it was enough time
55 minutes. For the food Hers came out, and she had the same issue I did two weeks ago. Grilled, cooked to death. Chicken wasn't edable, let alone chewable. The potatoes were watery. And the seasoning, was a bit much. Specifically salt I mean like, it was poured on. I commented immediately, about my own experience The waitress asked how it was... She explained it was tough, salty We didn't ask for anything, but the Waitress left to get the manager Again, we didn't ask for the manager. We didn't ask for anything. However, once the manager got called, I disagree with how it was handled.
As we waited for the manager, I took a couple bites of mine I don't know how else to describe other than overcooked/gummy/rubbery. So she wasn't being over dramatic or being picky.
I pushed it away myself And the manager came out and asked what the complaint was. He said visually, he could see her complaint. Then he explained he took her meal off the receipt.
And that's what irked me.
Ok. Great. So now, it's over an hour and fifteen we've been there. The food she ordered, plate taken away and they took the charge off bringing us a bill for the food I didn't finish either.
So we paid a bill.....for no actual meal Sorry, one soda. Total time one hour thirty minutes invested.
I'll definitely choose elsewhere next time
How you can think two people taking almost two hours to sit, and wait on food that wasn't enjoyable or edible should be charged.. To charge them anything, when you see they aren't eating it, and have complained pushing the food away or sending it back...? And while waiting a realllllly long time FOR the food they didn't eat, while no one can be bothered to even refill a drink?
I paid a babysitter. Gave almost two hours of my night out, to give them my business And when faced with my disappointment (a second time) Their way of rectifying it was only charging for ONE of the inedible meals. Awesome. You didn't charge us, for the meal we sent back. Too kind.
And, as I was leaving, the lady in the booth behind me caught me, and said 'i had to send mine back too" So, sorry, not trying a...
Read moreGonna go ahead and write this before I’m in good enough spirits to leave three stars. Second time ordering the same thing. First time had similar issues to the second- pasta sort of luke warm, chicken parm just barely cooked enough to be passible. Felt like the meal was being warmed up by certain elements of the dish as it was being mixed around, and cooled by others. (In the photo you can see how the sauce looks like it was slathered on after the fact and the pasta just seems to look luke warm. Your eyes do not deceive you, it is. Again I had the same issue my first time but this is my SECOND time so I didn’t expect to get the response I did from the manager when I explained the situation about the first time and pertaining to the second time asking if I could get it more well done. After explaining my situation I thought he’d readily take the order to the back and get to remaking it well done or heating/ baking it to a desired temperature/ bake, however what he did was start immediately offering up ultimatums and trying to confuse me. Eventually saying, “I mean I can heat it up on the cheese warmer but that’s just gonna melt the cheese it’s not gonna cook the chicken any more.” I had already explained myself at that point (we all see how the cheese looks kind of nasty like it hasn’t been baked on very well) and he’s acting like he doesn’t know what well done means. I’ll add finally. He tried to trick me into keeping my first order and getting a second one made, all I have to say: at the quality of food and service at your location; I should be getting two meals for the...
Read moreI recently visited Applebee's for their advertised "All You Can Eat" deal, which promised endless shrimp, chicken tenders, and riblets for $15.99. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfying, it was downright disappointing and felt like a scam.
First, they told us they ran out of shrimp, which was my favorite of three proteins, we were left with only ribs and chicken tenders immediately, significantly limiting the value of the deal. (I don't know since when Applebees replaced ribs with riblets, and shrimps with boneless wings, apparently they found out they won't have profits if they don't replace those two LOL!)
We picked ribs as a replacement for shrimps, the first serving was ok (still riblets not ribs), but with each refill, the portions became smaller and smaller. By the second round, we were given tiny scraps of riblets, barely enough to justify calling it a meal, this was an obvious and cheap attempt to cut costs at the customer's expense.
To make matters worse, when we received the bill, we were double charged for an item. The mistake was corrected only after we pointed it out, but it added to the overall frustration.
At this point, I feel completely misled, "All You Can Eat" should mean fair portions and availability of advertised items, not shrinking servings and missing options. The lack of transparency and poor service has ensured that I will never dine at this...
