Edison has more Indian restaurants along Oak Tree Road than most cities in the U.S. and that caused enterprising people to open restaurants away from the strip. Bombay Talk has a very successful location on Oak Tree Road which is buzzing at any given time of day. This branch in Parin is their second branch. This place is equally good, if not better. Being a home chef, I have the observations. The quality of the punjabi dishes, like Chhole Bhatoore need to be improved. I saw at least three other tables order the same dish and the Chhole failed to impress. I tasted Cinnamon in mine. Please revisit the recipe and make changes or people like me will never order this dish. Service was inconsistent. Our order was not delivered together. The two orders of noodles arrived after the two orders of Dosas and the Chhole Bhatoore were finished. The noodles were for my two little girls, so guess what? They were almost full by the time their food arrived. The noodles were half cooked and stuck together in clumps. If you can't handle Saturday night rush (last night wasn't that bad) then get different chefs. Maybe rotate chefs between Edison and Parlin. I'm a good friend of the Owner, Mr. Mehta and will let him know my thoughts. We were neighbors in Edison. Please maintain the quality of your food or you'll lose customers. Service was prompt...
Read moreI went for dinner on Sat evening to this place with family. There was enough parking available as there were barely two three tables with people. Staff was friendly but they are normally short on staff. We ordered chilli Paneer, Paneer Kathi roll, Onion Uttapam, dabeli, and French Fries. Food came quickly but there was no wow factor in any of the items. Pameer chilli was nothing but Paneer pieces simmered in tomato catch-up, Dabeli didnt come in Indian Pav rather a French bread which didnt compliment with Dabeli Masala. It was a total disappointment and for $10 you get 1 piece. Paneer Kathi roll was so tiny that it dont even fill a toddler, but would cost you $10. French fries were all with black residue in them so seems like they dont bother to change the frying oil and use it even when it is filled with burned food pieces or there is barely any oil left. Utappam also was not great tasting but at least a standard size. To me this place food was very disappointing, no taste, quantities are very small for price you pay.
Ambience is good though and food would. Come quickly but not all together. They serve whatever is ready which I think is good, at least food is hot.
I wish they work on food taste and quality more. I do not expect such short cuts in food specially when one is paying at par with other good...
Read moreExtremely bad food. Easily one of the worst Indian restaurants in this area.
I can understand that on a particular day, a restaurant might not be able to get 1 item on their menu perfectly but this was bad at another level. We ordered 4 items: a. Pani Poori: This dish was good. It was tasty and chutney was also nice. So we decided to order a few more things which were inedible b. Sev Poori: Their poori was stale and tasted and smelled of bad oil. Moreover, they seem to have sprinkled red chilli powder on the top of sev which made the sev poori extremely spicy c. Idly: Cant believe they even got this wrong. Chutney was frozen chutney(form one of the brands Deep/Swad)/ Sambhar has excessive salt. And Idly, My God, Idly seemed to have been made from some other batter. The consistency of idly was awful as they seems to have put more water while making the batter d. Bombay Sandwich: Again, the chutney was not fresh. The cucumber was stinking. I was scared of getting ill after eating this food here.
Never going back. Cant believe how they are in the business where there are so many good restaurants in the nearby. They seems to get even the basic...
