I've eaten a lot of frozen treats in my day. A lot. Tortoni in restaurants, ice cream sammiches from the corner store, tubs of Häagen-Dazs from the supermarket, Brooklyn street corner treats like pirágua and coquito, italian ices at pizzerias, etc. Like grandpa always said: if it's cold and sweet, I'm ready to eat...okay, I'm lying, he never said that. I just made it up... but it's a credo to live by. Anyway, love ice cream but frozen custard (made with eggs) is better. Love Italian ice but homemade ice with stuff in it is better. Rita's has THE BEST Italian Ice and THE SECOND BEST frozen custard (after that banana custard place in Coney Island). Enjoy both by getting a "Gelati" as they call it. This here is a "5 Layer Gelati" that, I guess is only here this summer. I got Black cherry ice and vanilla custard. Amazing.

I'm giving this Rita's Italian Ice location 5 stars because it's the best one. They carry the most selection of custard flavors out of all the locations I've been too. Rita's custard is absolutely delicious! My favorite flavors are cheesecake and cake batter. Today I had a gelati with marshmallow peanut butter cream ice and cake batter custard. It was SO GOOD! I highly recommend Rita's Italian Ice in Parlin!

Worst experience with Rita’s. Looks like the chocolate custard was mixed with a lot of water, so the ingredients were not able to blend properly. Also the portions were way smaller than other branches. First and last time buying at this location

I'm honestly disgusted. My severely mentally handicapped Uncle needed to use the bathroom horribly. They claimed they have no bathroom but we all know NJ state laws says that noone can or should be turned down to use the facilities and that atleast one should be available to the public. My only assumption leaves me to believe they declined use due to my uncles handicap. He does not make a mess and usually one of us will go in with him. It's just exhuasting that things like this still happen in 2024. The worst part is, I have used their bathroom before. But due to my uncle being with me, I wasn't going to get into a verbal altercation and upset my uncle. He didn't ask to born mentally handicap. He doesn't deserve the rude, judgemental behavior that he often receives. So please if you see someone mentally handicap and it's visibly noticeable, don't stare..don't give dirty looks, because he may be mentally handicap but he knows and sees that. It's just as wrong as this Rita's. And Rita's, you can not have an employee only bathroom. And you definitely have a working restroom for your employees. This is beyond saying no to my uncle. This is the LAW. As A NJ BUSINESS YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING BATHROOM FOR THE PUBLIC. You may want to read up on it before someone reports you to the BBB, or maybe it'll be too late by then 🤔 disgusting. Your employees should be ashamed of themselves. And to be quite frankly, an apology wouldn't even do anything. How am i supposed to explain to my uncle that you are disgustingly judgmental over disabilities and handicap people? I wouldn't. I will lie to him as to protect his feelings but as far as I'm concerned...it was the most inconsiderate, illegal, judgemental, horribly wrong thing to do.

And no your bathroom isn't broken. So let's NOT lie more and dig that grave deeper. I'm 36, my uncle is older than me..we have been through this so much but there are some amazing people out there..Rita's not being one.

Discrimination against handicapped people. No public use of bathrooms.

That's two laws you broke. But morally ....how could you seriously see someone who you mentally handicap and treat them like you did?????????? It's heartbreaking. And I'll make sure I'll blast this on social media. Maybe next time youll do better and not make someone who has the mind of a 4 yr old feel the way that you did. And make his family enraged because again ...it's 2024...get with it.

I just read another review saying they are racist too. Racist and they discriminate against handicap people. Real nice. Unreal. Then they'll reply knowing we can't reply.... so let me cover this. Yes we are positive we have the right location. Yes I'm positive this happened the exact way I said. There's no getting around this. So what now? I expect dirty looks from strangers but a business giving dirty looks and saying they don't have a bathroom. No. Look...

Last night 7/11 my boyfriend and I were driving to our landlords house which is not even 2 minutes away from location 3310 Washington Rd, Parlin, NJ 08859 We decided to stop quickly because the window was still open I jumped out and ordered a cotton candy gelati with vanilla custard and a cherry with vanilla they asked if I needed covers I said yes and ran back into the car- When I got in front of my landlords my b/f got out of the car and I opened mine only to realize it was only cherry ice - We decided to see if possibly they still had the window open it was about 10:08pm and we had to pass by to get home anyway- I saw the lights still on knocked on the window a girl came around to the door I told her there's only cherry ice I ordered cherry and vanilla custard can you switch it or no she said no I was walking back to the car and a tall skinny blonde woman came out with a bit of a attitude yelling over to me saying I didn't say vanilla as I was getting in the car and yelled why didn't you come back right away why didn't you say that when you were here I was about to answer and my boyfriend spoke over explaining the situation we went right up the street I didn't notice until I opened it- but she continued to speak with a rude tone and as I told her I don't know why she's speaking the way she is and if she cant help us its fine ill just speak to manager or supervisor about it tomorrow she said "good ill be here you can come you can call ill be here" I think it unnecessary for her to have came back out when the other girl walked in yelling across the parking lot with such attitude and aggression it wasn't a issue and wasn't a big deal until she came out and acted the way she did it was completely unnecessary and rude its either you can help the customer or you cant and that's fine mistakes happen - I wont be coming to this location anymore even though its the closest...
