I hate to be the first poor review for this place since they just opened but my first experience was not a great one. I went thru the drive thru, waited in line for about 5 min, and was planning to order a latte and a mocha. They didnât have their full menu up yet and couldnât make a mocha which is completely understandable since they did JUST open. But as I was trying to order, I noticed that not only the lady at the window wasnât wearing a mask but about 3 other people behind her as well! I told her that I understand you just opened up but I was concerned (as I have someone going through chemo at home) about everyone not wearing masks. (I did see only 1 person with their mask on). She replied with âwell yeah we did just open so weâre trying our best.â ..Iâm sorry, you did open up in the middle of a pandemic! You are in the food industry AND masks our mandatory right now in the state of illinois! She immediately grabbed who I assume is the manager while shouting âcan you talk to her she has a chemo patient at home and is complaining about the masksâ..this just seemed so heartless, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. I donât care if maybe you donât agree with whatâs going on in the world and all the safety precautions we have to take but you are running a business especially one that is making food and drinks for people! The man I spoke to after was polite and said thanks for my feedback but I just feel like I was brushed off. This is a very important issue and needs to be corrected for the safety of not only your new customers but the employees as well. I ended up not ordering anything and they will NEVER be getting my business in the future. I was looking forward to having a local coffee shop for months now and after my first experience, I am very disappointed to...
Read moreWent there to get 2 Large Frappes for me and my girlfriend. Got to the window, they only gave me one. Then made me pull up front to come out and give me a small iced coffee. Told them it was a large frappe, came out and gave me the same small iced coffee that they just put in the blender. 90% of it was foam. At that point I was there for 30-40 minutes and the man in shorts had an attitude when I told them they kept giving me the wrong drink so I saved us the trouble and left. We went to the dunkinâ donuts next to it and got coffee there (correct on the first try, no trouble and the staff was polite). I wish I could say this is a one time occurrence but this same thing has happened to me here 3 times (getting a small iced coffee that was just put into a blender, which I could literally do at home). I literally donât know how someone working in a coffee shop cannot distinguish between an iced coffee and frappe, or small vs. large. Itâs sad since I tried supporting this local business multiple times even after horrible service. When then they get it right, their drinks are good, but itâs simply too much trouble and not worth the money. Unfortunately the incompetence is astronomical and I will not be returning and will be getting my coffee literally anywhere else. I should have asked for a refund but at that point they would have gotten confused with another simple request. I hope the business owner reads this and takes some time to explain to the staff the difference between a large and small, and how to make a simple frappe. Do better for customers spending their hard earned money on a treat for themselves, and work on not treating simple requests as inconvenient. Once again you work at a coffee shop. Please...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE! I love everything about it. When I pulled up for the first time through the drive through, I could see the compost area in the back and it pulled at my heart strings, Green Joe really IS making an environmental impact that they claim to be doing - some places do the same but you don't see it. You can see it and taste it(not the compost, the coffee haha). I love that they have vegan and gluten free options. I love that the coffee tastes so good and the staff truly care and want to make sure you leave happy. I have visited often since they opened and will continue to drive out of my way past multiple other coffee chains to visit. It is totally worth it. Last week, my husband and I went through the drive through and requested a bagel. We did not even realize we came so close to closing time and the ovens were turned off. They let us know and we were totally fine without the bagel but they insisted we pull around while they heat it back up. We pulled around and waited just a few minutes before someone came out and asked if we wanted to come inside and check out the space and meet the coffee shop pup. UMMMM... YES!! We went inside and fell in love with the space and the employees even more as they showed us around and explained the local shops and artists they are featuring. It made my heart so happy to have a place that cares so much about the local community, the taste and quality of their products, and giving back to the community they serve and the environment.
Thank you for coming into my life Green Joe, I will see you every week.....
