First, let me just say, that our waitress, Liz or Elizabeth is what the bill said, was incredible! She did everything in her power to make our breakfast as good as it could be. I got a breakfast sandwich with wheat bread, bacon, sunny side egg, and cheese and it was amazing. I also got a smoothie that was incredible (Liz said she made it herself and she is quite the smoothie professional because holy moly!)
The highlights: Elizabeth (Liz) our waitress: She did everything in her power to serve us in the best way possible. She answered our many questions about the menu and separated our bills 7 ways like we asked She also was extremely kind and even got one of our party members an extra ice tea in a to go cup which our party member was ecstatic about. Elizabeth did this just out of pure kindness which was genuinely really awesome. The service was top tier! Inside! The inside of the restaurant was really cute and I loved the decor. I'm a big decor person inside of restaurants and this one did not disappoint! (More on the outside later) My food My sandwich was very good. The egg was perfectly sunny side up and was delicious just like I had asked. The Triple Berry Smoothie Holy moly! The Triple Berry Smoothie was delicious! It wasn't too sweet, had a nice soothing taste to it, and was just perfectly lightly sour. It was honestly incredible and I would go here just to have their smoothies. This place is a go to smoothie place in my opinion
I have a few very very minor tropes (these are not anything to be upset about or make you stray away from this spot); The outside The outside of the restaurant could due with a rework to make it more poppy and cutesy. I'm not sure how to work it but make it look as cute as the inside looks on the outside! The Price It's slightly expensive for what it is. It was about $25 (with tip) for the sandwich and hash browns, and smoothie. That's slightly expensive for my gauge of how much a breakfast should be but maybe I'm skewed towards the cheaper side. However, my party members didn't think it was bad so maybe I am wrong.
Overall, 8.9/10. I would come back here and recommend this to friends as a good breakfast spot and a wonderful...
Read moreThis place, the server, the food.. made a very, very positive experience for a first impression a few weeks ago. I had the lime chicken and rice soup cup pictured. Yes, this is a cup of soup here. Huge huge huge portions and just not garbage portions either. Very good ingredients are used I can tell. I've worked on food service since the 1990s in 8+ employers, and I can sense a kitchen and staff that are "ON POINT". The bottom blt club pictured was absolutely huge and with a generous portion of fries. This place definitely pays attention to how their items are presented. The soup came in a cute cock-eyed bowl that I could tell wasn't cheap. It held the heat of the soup till the end. There is also nice little home decor all around the restaurant that makes it feel cozy... but the best part was the server Jasmine. She couldn't have been more than 18-19, but she was well composed, helpful, and dare I say even had a wift of grace to her. Whether I'm back to dine here is more a function of time rather than a question of if. Also, prices are rather low for the portions and quality. Don't sleep on this place!
10-21-2024: visited Rising Early Cafe again and the experience was just as pleasurable. Jasmine was again our server, she excelled again. Jasmine is a great server - I've served 4 different places, including a time I served on Michigan Ave. Jasmine is by far the best server I've ever had. My mother, whom was with me, kept talking about how the food is actually quality ingredients made on site obviously. It's authentic food and tastes amazing. I had the ffarmhouse skillet replaced The chorizo with ham instead.
I've seen other similar breakfast nooks use cheaper ingredients and charge more than Rising Early...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, I was amazed at their high average rating, but several things fell short.
Most dissapointingly: their water and soda machine tastes both dirty and poorly filtrered. I order a diet coke and a water pretty much everywhere I go, and I have to say I haven't had soda or water from a machine this bad tasting in a long while, it had both the dirty nozzle taste as well as the poorly maintained filtered taste. (I used to work in food service so writing a poor review is extra difficult for me).
I got my food, it tasted pretty good for the most part, eggs were done to my liking, the salad was food, and I was looking forward to having the pancakes, but they were really dry. I was waiting for the waitress to come by so I could ask for butter. I did realize after the meal that I missed the dish of butter sitting at my table, so that's on me, but that did tell me that between dropping off my food and finishing, the waitress didn't have a chance to come by and ask me how things were going, and I could've told her the water and diet coke tasted very off and I would've like some butter for the pancakes and she could've pointed out the butter at my table. Even though I used all the syrup I was given, I still couldn't help but think the pancakes were just dry. I understand the table behind me were making a lot of special requests so I'm sure I would've had better service if they weren't there taking up all her time.
Overall, I paid 21.50 for my meal in the pictures with tip, I didn't really enjoy it because I had to wash down the dry pancakes with funky water and diet coke. I was going to order food to go because their menu looked pretty good but after this experience this morning I don't think I want to...
