Read moreTwo years ago I left review with 5 stars and it was really honest and I was really happy to give the best review for this place. Today my opinion about this place was devastated by personnel . It was very sad experience after two years of my loyalty to this place all dinners, business lunches with my costumers, trade partners, local city representatives…. I was always recommended this place as the one of the best in nw burbs… for all my business and trade partners… not any more. So what happened? At first I know this place have no reservations.. no reservations its very very simple and clear for me. Today I had traveling group of 9 people from two European countries. So when we get out from airport, what I said, lets go to Opolska! Best Polish food on NW burbs.. during a driving from airport I made a phone call to restaurant just to announce our coming ( 9 people group) and asked how busy they are and how long we will wait? Person who pick up phone said . They need approximately ——about 30 minutes to prepare for us at table. NO PROBLEM, what’s your name is??
This has been on my list for quite some time so I was finally able to go. Parking is a shared lot so plenty of parking available. The restaurant itself is big so you can easily get a table. Restrooms are on both sides.
I didn’t realize this but this is on the same road as Bacowka. Just a FYI, that one charges you an outrageously high sales tax, their prices in person are higher than what you see on their website, and their service is atrocious.
Opolska’s menu is not as extensive as Bacowka’s but their quality is superior. The service was very attentive and our waitress was really nice. Prices were very fair and sales tax was normal.
The food portions were very sufficient, you’ll leave full. We ordered a Polish plate, potato pancakes, 5 meat pierogis, and handmade dessert. I also ordered the kompot (homemade juice). It’s a refreshing drink, not too fruity. The Polish plate came with kiebasa sausage, 3 different kinds of pierogi, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage, and sauerkraut. Potato pancakes were not soggy, they were firm and moist. The Kiebasa sausage was juicy and tasted great with the sauerkraut. Stuffed cabbage was my personal favorite. The meat inside of it was well seasoned. Pierogi were all very tasty. They were fresh and had ample fillings. The homemade dessert cake was interesting, it wasn’t sweet. It had a graham cracker crust, raspberries, shaved almonds, chocolate, and some cream...
Read moreThis was the BEST restaurant we visited on our trip to Schaumburg. The portions we received were incredibly generous. Prices are incredibly fair for the quality of the food and service (both of which were great). Our dinner began with a complimentary appetizer of smalec, bread and pickles. I ordered the polish plate and my fiance got a 10 piece order of pierogies. The kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, and pierogies were truly wonderful. My fiance’s family is Polish and he raved about how great the pierogies were. Everything tasted homemade in the best way - you can tell this establishment is one of the few that still puts care into the food they make. We’ll definitely make another visit here the next time we’re in the Chicago area....
