So the place next door was closed and I went here, I had to wait almost 10 minutes at the counter before getting service, I picked their combo #1 and 2 cans of sodas as pictured, the menu price for the combo was 13.99 but the total came out to 25, that was some sticker shock but I figured thats roughly what I would've paid with tip, and just paid cash with no extra for tip. After I sat down and started reading the reviews for this place, I started getting anxious, so far my experience was just like the other reviews, questionable service with even more questionable pricing that doesn't match the advertised menu pricing. So I thought the food was going to be bad. When the food came out I was pleasantly surprised, it had a real char grilled taste, the chicken was well marinated and juicy, and the veggies were fresh. The food took a while to come out plus the initial wait to put in my order, I think I ended up spending close to an hour here with more than half of it waiting, which isn't a good experience. A few customers came and went and I noticed nobody had to wait as long as I did, some even got service before they sat down. So here's my review: yes the price you are charged doesn't match the menu price, if there's a sit down fee or tip included for dining in, it should be displayed so people can understand what is going on. Yes the service can be bad if you aren't a regular I guess. The food I got was pretty good, I think 25 for the plate I got plus 2 cans was a fair-ish price with how things are today. I didn't leave hungry for sure. Overall, it's alright, place would be 4* like it's neighbors of the service was better.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Scam artists! I asked for the bill and was told $44. I asked to see the bill since that was almost twice what I expected. The lady behind the counter then spent 10 minutes “creating” a bill for me. Extra items were added on that were supposed to be included with the meal, all the prices were changed and apparently they charge six dollars for the tiniest bowl of lentil soup. These people are charlatans. Go anywhere else but here. I’m sharing photos of the receipt she printed out compared with the menu. These people should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. In fact I’m probably gonna do that now.

We were so disappointed. Got 2 boxes of biryani both were stale and it smells so bad. We drove 2 hours and.. wasn't expecting this. We used to get biryani from here often when we lived close by but this time the experience was horrible. When I called and spoke to the lady who's the owner, she only agreed to compensate me with One box of Biryani. And when I was trying to ask why she's only giving me 1 instead of 2, she abruptly hung up on me. Please make sure you take some proper action when you receive a complaint. Take a look at the picture below, I had to throw away all of this.

I've been looking for a new gyros place in the Schaumburg area since Zippy's closed and decided to give this one a shot. My family ordered three different pita sandwiches: gyros, shish kebab, and chicken shawarma. All three came with cucumbers and onions inside; the gyros also came with a yogurt/cucumber sauce.

The good: The chicken and kebab sandwiches were pretty good and reasonably priced. My son really liked the chicken, though the kebabs, while tasty, were pretty small and processed meatballs rather than the solid chunks of meat I was expecting.

The bad: To call this a gyros is a disgrace. Packaged beef slices rather than shaved off a spit like a real gyros, I haven't seen that since I tried to order a gyros in Massachusetts. The meat was also overcooked and as a result fairly tough and dry. The taste was OK but there were really only a few slices, a far cry from the Greek gyros we Chicagoans (and suburbanites) are used to.

The other: The restaurant was empty and not surprisingly due to the dirty dining room, however there was a constant stream of Indian and Pakistani customers picking up to-go orders, so I have to assume that some of their food appeals to people who presumably have more experience with that kind of food than I do. Then again, McDonald's sells a lot of terrible cheeseburgers to obese Americans, so I don't know if that really means anything.

All in all, I was reasonably satisfied with my meal for the price paid ($16 total), but with the highly superior Pita House down Roselle Rd., I can't...

I am writing this review based on my “15 years” as a customer at Pita & Kabobz

This place is “no longer the same” as it was originally started by the owners 😔

Good quality & taste went down the hill over the years and whenever I brought this up “politely” with the owners they were very ignorant, uninterested & unresponsive 😌

Food Prices went up “including” their Chai which isn’t even irani tea 😞

Owners generic response to any complaints were “I will let Louis” know 🤷‍♂️ Is Louis the owner or the person just working in kitchen ? Clearly NO sense of Ownership here and no importance given to real regular customers feedback at all. Typical Desi mindset unfortunately.

Some examples of my bad experiences:

A. Dal Tadka which was just boiled Dal and NO TADKA

B. Chicken 65 which had bad smell to it the very next day

C. Kaddu ka Dalcha Pan which had very few Kaddu’s in it

D. Mutton Biryani has been historically “below par” in taste & meat quality

E. Lack of Commitment - Sometimes they closed the restaurant “earlier” than their close time when I went to pick up my food leaving me hungry for the rest of the night

“Suggestions to Owners” - Please it’s time now to “Listen and act to satisfy your Customers” as there are too many similar restaurants to “compete” in this area.

This is not like the previous years - 2007/08 time but it’s now 2023 and everyone wants good taste, respect, good customer service & quality for food when spending money...
