Really?!?! We stop in H Dog every so often, but tonight took the cake. We have had the Pot Roast Sandwich combo meal several times. My wife loves it. Tonight she was a little bit hungrier and saw the Pot Roast Plate Dinner. Typically a plate dinner would have more meat, etc. When it came, it looked like the combo meal, with barely enough meat sitting on an Italian roll instead of the combo meal's toasted bread, and minus the drink, for more money. When we asked about it, the cashier had to look at the menu, glanced at the cook, and then presumed it had more more fries and "vegetables". We found that the combo meal that we purchased along with this dinner actually had more fries and a drink than the plate meal. A BIG waste of money. The cashier seemed to be a little new, and we took that with a grain of salt. Until, she came over to tell us that they would be closing in 2 minutes, as she turned off some of the lights. No reassurance that we would be able to finish our meal was mentioned. We didn’t come in just before closing, and weren't lounging around having a relaxing meal. It just felt unnecessary. We were almost done. Most places will allow a few minutes beyond close, while they are cleaning up. It took almost as long for them to make the food, as we were trying to eat it. No one wants to be at a job longer than they have to, but these issues, along with other minor items that would just lengthen this review, are making me reconsider going here. It's unfortunate, since there are plenty of other places to eat within blocks of here, and if things don't change, other customers might consider other options too. Then, someone won't be worried about payroll or getting out 3-4...
Read moreI have been going for H Dog for years and they really need to know about the practice of Good Will. I arrived at H Dog at 4:58 and checked out the menu but needed to wash my hands. I came out of the bathroom at 5:01 and ordered. I inquired about the $2.00 hot dog price, but she said it was after 5. I paid without making a fuss, but it left a bad feeling about this restaurant since I never have experienced something like that.
Technically she was right, but I was in your restaurant before 5, anyway I got my order to go, and I was in my car when my wife called. We are having a football party, and my wife asked me to inquire about getting a tray of gyros and sides.
I was still angry about the one minute late and we ordered up the street at Bueno Beef. If there was just a small bit of kindness and appreciation (GOOD WILL) I would have gladly given H Dog my business. You can't nickel and dime your customers and think they will be coming back. How about treating customers like you want them to come back. I guess this is the world we live in.
In response to the owner, I only ordered two hot dogs, and this happened Friday at around 5:00 PM. Your response was not me, and the proper response would have been I agree, and we will do better. You have lost a...
Read moreIt was my first visit there and I can only scream TERRIBLE.
The food was good....service terrible. I placed my order only to recieve the wrong food. Honestly didn't mention that because of the attitude I got when I ordered. Then, when I asked for a box for my kids leftovers I was given a small box. I asked for a larger one and was asked why I needed a larger one. I explained that my kids Gyros wouldnt fit into a small box and the worker rolled her eyes and told me the small box 'would have to do'....problem was IT DIDNT FIT!
Never.....ever....ever again will I subject myself or my kids to that attitude. If I want attitude from snarky teenage girls I will stay home and listen to my daughter, not spend $30+ dollars on the wrong food order.
I am still in utter disbelief of the experience I had at this establishment.
The biggest problem was the young brunette that was training the other young lady. The trainee...very sweet. Trainer....HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. Trainee....DO NOT.....I REPEAT DO NOT......learn from her!
On a sidenote....I also witnessed this ignorant young brunette being INCREDIBLY rude to a black family. Note I am white and I was appalled....
