I was pretty excited to try this new restaurant, but my first visit was pretty flat. Even though it has the word “Thai” in its name, the restaurant menu is a hodgepodge of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes. A Sloppy menu is usually an off putting flag and in this case was no exception as it tastes like the food is either being made hours in advance or being prepared from prepackaged pastes. I’d love to see the chefs prepare the food to be proven wrong. Service is pretty poor here. The wait staff asked for our drink orders, but the restaurant doesn’t provide a drink menu. The waitress wasn’t able to give us any options for drinks so we just ordered water and a soda. The restaurant tables are also crammed. Each table has a large round serving tray that must have been a foot in diameter with s&p along with sriracha and hoisin sauce. If you’re expecting the usual Thai condiments of sugar, fish sauce, chili flakes, and vinegar- they are not in this tray. But all this to say that we sat at a 4 top and ordered 2 entrees and one app and the plates wouldn’t fit on the tables. Secondly, why bother calling them appetizers when every single item we ordered came out at the same time, less than 5 minutes after we placed our order? Getting the food so quickly was also a little concerning which is why I suspect it was all prepared ahead of time. The spring rolls were good I have no complaints there. But the drunken noodles were terrible. The color was off, the dish was dry, the cuts of beef seemed to be the lowest quality of beef the restaurant could scrape up, and the vegetable portion was abysmal. The noodles themselves had a gluey texture and everything had a which char texture which makes me suspect the dish is made ahead of time and then quickly reheated on a wok when it is ordered. The panang curry tasted tasted good. I disagree a little with the choice of veg as it is usually served with bell peppers but here it’s full of mostly beans, along with your choice of protein. The main complaint I have with this dish is that it’s nothing I couldn’t have whipped up myself at home with a package of panang curry paste, some beans and some raw shrimp. There’s no complexity to the curry being served here. Overall I couldn’t even give this place 3 stars because I’d be willing to go back to a 3 star restaurant if I was in the mood but I can easily say I will never return to Thai Chef. The meals are very affordable though. In my opinion I would rather pay a little more for better food, but maybe this is what the local patrons like?

We are so happy to have this Thai restaurant close to where we live. We finally got to try it, and we really liked it. We even got there before the dinner rush which was perfect because it's not very spacious, and got full quickly. When we left there were several people waiting for seats to clear up. Food was yummy and flavorful. I love the Thai Chef Curry. Sooo creamy. My husband got the pho and really enjoyed it too! Service was really friendly! We did notice there was some confusion with serving tho. There was multiple people doing multiple things, example one person came to ask for drinks, leaves then another person asks about drinks, we mention first person is getting it, and same with taking our order... multiple people repeating tasks. I mean I guess that's showing they are attentive to the customer, but I think if they designated employees to specific tables it wouldn't feel to repetitive or that they aren't sure who needs something or already been helped, if that makes sense. Because of this style of service part of our order was misordered, then canceled, as we were still waiting we were asked if we still wanted it, even though we were still expecting it and had no idea it was canceled... so we just told them to not worry about it (it was an appetizer, and we were basically done with our main dish). Not bashing here (we loved everything), just hoping to shed some light on maybe a way to encourage the service routine? Over all we loved it and plan to come back again some time!

So the last time I visited this resturant will definitely be my last time. I visited this restaurant several times in the past and never had a problem. The staff is always pleasant and attentive. The food this last time was absolutely horrible. So bad that I asked the waitress if there was a new chef in the kitchen. She replied, "No" but it was so hard to believe. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and it looked terrible, just look at the pictures for yourself. Usually I will not order a second entree if the first one was unsatisfactory but this day I was a bit hungry so I gave it another try. Wrong decision, the second dish was just as bad. It was swimming in oil, just looking at it made my stomach turn. If there was a change in the chef I hope they find the old one and if it was not a change there needs to be one. I wish them nothing but success in the future. I have no other choice but to take my business elsewhere. I did not eat the food, so I was offered a 20% which I accepted because there were two entered prepared for me but if it had been me I would have not charged anything...That's just me!

Well. Just left. Took my 9 yo daughter here for some much needed one on one time. We both LOVE sushi and wanted to give it a shot. The sushi we ordered (Cibolo & Schertz Rolls). The avocado was brown when they brought the rolls to the table and everything in the rolls were very soggy and hardly held together. Nonetheless we were not going to let that put a damper on our lunch date! We finished our food and were just chatting and goofing off (low key...We were not loud nor were we bothersome to anybody else). The women looked a little put off that we were "hanging out" (they were NOT busy by any means) and the man (I assume is the owner?) became very irritated that we were still there. He began hovering around our table and eventually came up and asked if we were finished. I asked if I needed to go to the counter for the bill but he responded very quickly that he would bring it to me. From that moment on he unpleasantly brought the check, I handed him my card and when he came back with the reciept I tried to say thank you but he just slammed the receipt book down and walked off. He had actually just done the same thing to an older lady who had been there for the same amount of time as we were. She said she had to step outside to grab something and that she would be right back. He threw her stuff away. Less than 3 minutes, she walked back in and acknowledged that she told him she would be right back. He couldn't have cared less. Good food or not (which we weren't impressed), we will not contribute to this business ever again. And to clarify, we were in there for MAYBE an hour and a half. Apparently they only want customers who get in...

I love Thai good but this is one of my worst experiences servife and food wise. Ordered my food at 5:06pm, they said 25 mins. I showed up 30 minutes later, they said my food was being packaged, 10 minus later-- still being packaged. another 10 and same thing. There's a crowd of takeouters forming and 1 guy said he ordered at 4:30pm and they gave his order to the wrong person. it's almost 6:30 at this point. How ridiculous? An hour and a half after ordering, the only consolation would have been if my food was good after waiting soloist an hour for my takeout order with little kids in tow. However, the food was absolute trash! My fried rice was the burned and blandest rice of any kind I've ever had, my drunken noodles and pad see ew were hard and stuck together. The mango sticky rice sauce was way too watery and the mangoes weren't even ripe. The rangoon and the sauce were just off. The orange chicken was ok and the spring rolls were fine but that's it. My pad thai was also too stuck together and hard and none of my family (who love thai food) wanted any. It was a complete waste of almost $90 and 75% of the food went in the trash. So not only did they waste my time, but also my money. If they were honest enough to tell me my order wasn't even stated yet, I would have dropped off my kids and returned for pickup but the fact that they were dishonest and kept stalling me pissed me off more than the poor food quality. I would normally give places a 2nd try as the non-take out food actually LOOKED decent but I...
