Update: I stopped in maybe a week a go and all of the employees were very friendly! It was a great experience. It made me want to stop by more often! Thank you, Suglia's!
Original review: First I will just let everyone know that I am a big pizza critic from NJ. With that said, I also have to say that I really like the pizza here. Mainly the plain and pepperoni.
But there are two things that continue to make me hesitate before I go here (and I pass it all the time).
The first and main holdup for me is the pricing. The pizza is just too expensive. The real sting for me recently was about two weeks ago I caved and decided to buy a pizza here again and they claim their smallest size is medium... but when you see that "medium" size its small. Small enough that they only cut it into 6 slices. If they cut it into 8 it would look a lot more like the frozen pizza size that it is. And sadly this small plain pizza is $12. That is the base line there, a very small "medium" with nothing fancy for $12. All of the slices are a little overpriced too, otherwise I would grab a slice more often.
The only other issue i I have had over the last 3 years has been some cold or even rude employee experiences. Consistantly. And from different people. No one at this place seems to be at a good place in life or likes the job even 10%. It always makes me decide not to stop by because I never enjoy the feeling that I am one more pain point in a persons day.
But every so often I let the taste and closeness to my house beat out the price and customer service. Not often though. Lower prices would be great; I would eat here way more often if it was cheaper.
Also, yes I really do love the pizza here a whole lot but I was not impressed at all with the cheese steak I ordered one time. It wasn't bad but it was very pricey for something I could have perfectly replicated at home but better. So I can't speak of their other food. But the pizza is...
Read moreLiked the special you guys had with the two slices and a drink. Typical cheap pizza joint experience, pizza was basic and the service was average. The building seems to have been renovated for a higher end Italian restaurant though, which most had expected Valenti's to become. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and now Suglias has some big shoes to fill.
The only real plus is that its the only establishment that is convenient to those in Haven. It's definitely a place to go if you have exhausted all other options.
Also, I had read the unprofessional comment about the previous owner of the building before it was deleted. Great PR! I understand why you'd do that, its in human nature to criticize those better than you.
Probably not going to buy food from here again since I wouldn't put it past you to do something to my food. (Your professionalism shows..) Good...
Read moreI purchased the Butter and Garlic Wings, and BBQ Garlic .. Wings were cooked just the way I like them a bit crispy . Only downfall is the butter garlic wings, they don't seem to use a lot of oil, garlic and butter on them, In fact it was almost non existent compared to other pizza places that sell wings, for example Anthony's Pizza in Frackville, now those are butter garlic wings with lots of oil, garlic and butter, you can roll the wing around in that in the container on the wing, where here at Suglias there was none.. But as to their other wings flavors, those are awesome with lots of sauce... Hopefully if Suglias reads this they start to load up on the oil, butter and garlic sauce on those wings. Then I'll be a wing customer...
