As someone who has enjoyed a delightful pizza experience at CP’s in the past, it pains me to write this review. However, honesty is paramount, especially when it comes to something as beloved as pizza.
Upon receiving my order today, I eagerly anticipated sinking my teeth into a slice of heaven. Unfortunately, what awaited me was far from the savory perfection I had come to expect from this establishment.
The dough, once a testament to chewy perfection, was now an exercise in futility. Tough and unyielding, it resisted every attempt to be bitten into, leaving me feeling as though I was wrestling with a culinary adversary rather than enjoying a meal.
To add insult to injury, the toppings, which had once been carefully selected and expertly cooked, now languished atop the sorry excuse for a crust. Soggy and undercooked, they failed to impart any of the flavorful nuances that had previously delighted my taste buds.
In short, the pizza I received today was a shadow of its former self—a sad reminder of what once was. It pains me to say that it was, without a doubt, the worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune of encountering.
As for the discrepancy between my experience and the glowing reviews that adorn CP’s online presence, I can only speculate. Perhaps there has been a change in management or a lapse in quality control. Whatever the reason, it is clear that something has gone awry.
In conclusion, while I hold out hope that CP will reclaim its former glory, today’s experience was nothing short of disappointing. For now, I will have to look elsewhere for my pizza fix—a bittersweet farewell to a once-beloved...
Read moreBest pizza on the south shore no questions asked! In summary, what makes Chris's pizza the best is a simple combo of a delicious thinner(but not super thin) crust, fresh mozzarella cheese on pretty much all his pizzas, and a simple but zesty tomato sauce. More details on specific pizzas below. My personal favourites for pizzas are the meat lovers(has no ham, yay) and the prosciutto and spinnach pizza. The meats are high quality, placed very well on the pizza and taste fresh too. Same level pf quality goes for the white pizzas, such as the prosciutto and spinach mentioned above as well as the white truffle and mushroom pizza. But pizza isnt all Chris has! The Mac and Cheese is also out of this world, especially if you like prosciutto like me. And the calzones are alright too, but beware they are a bit doughy, so ask for them well done or only for specific kinds of fillings(buffalo chicken and alfredo calzones are pretty good). Overall an amazing place to go for takeout, just watch out for the wait times. Order early and bring a pizza bag along to keep things warm on the way home. You won't regret ordering from here! Will update...
Read moreThis is a takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I started off with the jambalaya. It had a really nice flavor, plenty of sausage, and it was a good size serving. I then tried the Cajun pasta. Again lots of sausage, a large portion, but I felt lacking in a lot of flavor. I think when I saw Cajun I expected flavoring that wasn't there. But the reason I came was for the pizza. And it was exceptional. It was what I consider New Haven style and everything about it was great. Perfect crust, great sauce, great toppings. I got the roasted red pepper and sausage and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great great pizza. On a scale of 1-10 this is a 9.1. Pizza alone is 9.7.
Second visit I ordered garlic Knots, pepperoni Pizza, and Cajun pasta. The pasta was very good, nice flavor with great sauce. The garlic knots were excellent, warm, fresh, and very tasty. The pizza was outstanding. I've done 615 restaurant reviews on Google maps as of this writing. And this place is one of only eighteen to make it onto my favorites list. It's just that good. It is well worth the one hour and 40 minute ride...
