This is a townie restaurant, where you sort of feel uncomfortable when you walk in, especially if you're not a local. You get some glares, you're not sure whether you should sit wherever, or if a host will seat you. Service is not rude, however it is a bit on the curt side. They can sense you're not from around here, and you can sense they'd wish you were a local instead. Expected an American tavern, but there are German artifacts inside and was served local craft beer (hazy IPA) in Guinness draught pint glass? Weird smell inside also. Then the food gets to your table and you kind of forget the mild annoyances of the first impression you got. Maybe I was hangry. The tenderloin in the sandwich was incredibly tasty and tender, though the ciabatta it's served on doesn't cut it. It was not real ciabatta, you know, the crusty, chewy, and airy bread. It was a ciabatta-shaped soft roll. Kinda like how "French" bread at Walmart is so far away from real French bread. Onions were undercooked, mushrooms a little shriveled. The fries were crispy, tasting fresh, and not greasy. I wish I had had an extra handful of them on the plate though. Turkey club was interesting. Super thick cut of turkey, and again, the meat was super tender and...

Got here at 1pm. We had never been here before. The place was small, crowded, and noisy. Our waitress, Candace, was the only server. She did well considering that. It did take 30 minutes from the time we ordered our food until it arrived. Candace apologized. Personally, I get anxious in loud crowds. But if you don't, the menu had a variety of items not in a typical bar. The portions were huge. I loved the mixed green salad. My boyfriend's chili was hearty, but not as spicy as he would have liked. In addition to the salad, I had chicken parm, fries, and butternut squash. I would've liked to try other menu items, but for me I wouldn't take the chance this small tavern might be busy and noisy.

Came back 7/11/23. My friend gave his Angus chili and chips just 3 stars. My grilled veggie wrap and fries gets 3 1/2 stars. Although tasty, some of the fries were cold. I asked for no onions in the wrap but got them anyway. It took quite a while to get it replaced. It was very tasty. The unsweetened iced tea was refreshing and...

Seemed like a nice spot driving by , looked pretty busy for a Monday night , so we stopped in for dinner. It’s very small inside , not a lot of tables , but that would be fine if it cycled a little quicker. We sat down , staff were very friendly , and took our drink orders. We ordered a turkey club and the steak sandwich for dinner . From the time the order went in it took about 55 mins before we saw our food. It wasn’t busy at that point either so not sure what happened. But people after us were getting their food before us . The steak sandwich was good but not what it should have been after an hour. My daughters turkey club ,the toast was so burnt it was like concrete and just crumbled apart. Maybe we just caught a bad day there , but if they can’t keep up on a Monday , it must be something else on a weekend. They might need to look into some extra cooks . I’ll keep this review in the middle . See what happens...

Visiting The Village Tavern in Scituate, RI, was a great experience. Parking was hassle-free. The bartender welcomed us and told us to choose our own seats. The bartender was impressively multitasking, handling multiple roles—bartender, host, waitress, and busboy—yet maintaining great service throughout. She managed to serve drinks, take orders, and deliver food with a friendly demeanor. The ambiance of The Village Tavern is charming, reminiscent of a rustic lodge. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful. This little joint stands out, offering a great dining experience in a relaxed and casual setting. I highly recommend visiting The Village Tavern.
