Honest review: I placed an order for Chicken Fried Steak, the trio soups, & steak pasta. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes which should of told me something. (I did ask for well done everything and Steak to be charred with the fat rendered off) Chicken fried Steak was undercooked, I noticed the ends were cooked perfect and dark brown inside, and the middle was soggy - I ripped that bad boy open and was in immediate disgust with the pink I saw, a request for well done was for a reason. I believe the batter was too thick so even though it looked cooked from outside, it wasn't. Honestly, the chicken fried steak probably would of been good if it was cooked longer. For the trio: I was missing the gumbo so can't comment on that. The shrimp and corn bisque as well as the shrimp ettouffe were not good. They cook these items days in advance and heat up a serving upon request. So, this makes the shrimp keep cooking everytime you heat it up so not only did these two items smell bad and taste bad, the shrimp literally melted in your mouth and I stopped eating after first bite, absolutely disgusting. Steak Pasta - steak pieces were barely grilled and light medium rare inside... definitely not well done. Picture below shows the meat/pasta ratio which is hardly no meat. The grease in the clear container is how much grease you get with your pasta. My side salad was also missing, but hey! I got 3 containers of ranch! Needless to say, this dish was underwhelming as well. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor - still edible wasn't the WORST and won't be back again for it. The parking lot was full of people & from seeing that to my food being done in less than 10 minutes.... I knew I should of canceled, because it was not adding up how it was cooked so fast. More out of towners come here for cajun food and I'm disappointed they have to experience such poor tasting food. Please continue your journey to a better establishment and don't let this place leave a bad taste in your mouth on true, authentic, cajun dishes. In addition: Fezzos fish is very questionable. They sell fried fish, don't tell you what kind it is same with the fish bites. If you want a place that won't disappoint trust me when I say go to: A Cajun way restaurant in Crowley, their food is cooked to order, fried catfish is phenomenal & their gumbo is to die for they cook everything to perfection. - They are closed on Sundays but I'm telling you this place is worth the drive. Even try Crawfish Time - best boiled crawfish and real louisiana gulf shrimp. Heck, Prejeans is even better than here and...
Read moreWe have come to Fezzo's many times and we are from Texas but have family in Lafayette and so we stop in many times during the year. I absolutely love the Etouffee here and so this past Saturday December 2020 we stopped in. My wife and I are handicapped and we asked to be seated quickly because I can't stand up for long and it was cold outside but we were told that we had to wait for 20 minutes. No one else was waiting and there were several tables that were dirty and no one was cleaning them up. So we sat outside and shivered the whole time. We quickly placed our order for shrimp etouffee that we were going to share. The waitress had no idea that was available but she said that they would put our request together and like make up that order just for us. I later found it on the menu and pointed it out to her. So finally we got our order and she asked us if there was anything else we needed. We told her that we needed silverware, napkins and the salad that comes with the meal. So she rushed off to get those items. If I wasn't so cold I would have taken pictures of our meal but I didn't, we just wanted to eat and leave heading home to Texas. The Etoufee barely had any shrimp on the plate, there were no more than 6 very small shrimp like salad shrimp and gravy and clumpy rice. The salad was the best part of the meal. I was extremely disappointed, very cold and miserable. I should have called the manager and asked him if he would be happy with paying over $15.00 for this tiny plate of food that is mostly rice. Hopefully he would have been embarrassed by what his staff served us. I guarantee you that next time I come here I will make sure that I get what I pay for and if I get served a pitiful meal like this again I will go elsewhere from now on and direct my family and friends to do the same. There are many very good restaurants in the area, Fezzo's capitalizes on the people traveling through the area on I-10. So if most of those people get a bad meal they most probably won't be back but people such as my wife and I are frequent customers and we will make our decision on whether or not to come back it won't make any difference to these people here at Fezzo's. Hopefully my review will help those travelers. I definitely deserve a free meal to replace the pitiful meal we just had...
Read moreBeen here many times but this last time Saturday Dec 13, 2020 was a terrible money wasting experience. We live in Texas and we have family in Lafayette so we pass by the Scott location frequently. I love their etouffee and order it a lot. This last time we had to sit outside because there was no room because many tables were dirty and the rest were occupied and we couldn't wait 20 minutes for a table. We got our menu and I had a hard time finding the shrimp etouffee on the menu so I told the waitress what I was looking for and she had no idea where it was on the menu or even if it was on the menu or not. But she said that she could get the kitchen to put my meal together for me and so she took off for the kitchen with our order. It was very cold outside and I was literally shivering and still looking for the Shrimp etouffee on the menu and I finally found it, their menu is not spread out enough, everything is stacked on top of each other making it hard to find the shrimp etouffee especially when you are cold and shivering. So when I saw the waitress again I told her that I found it and she oh ok I found it also. Shortly our order arrived and she asked if we needed anything else. We said yes, utensils, napkins, the salad that comes with the meal. So she took off to go get our missing items. When we got our utensils we started eating and when we looked at our plate there were only about 6 tiny shrimp on the plate, lots of gummy rice and a piece of bread. I was too cold to complain about it and we quickly ate and left headed back to Texas. We had stopped at Rouses and I purchased 2 pounds of large shrimp for $5.99 per pound and I was thinking that Fezzo's could definitely afford to put more shrimp on the plate at $14.99 per order. If they only put 8oz of shrimp that would look like a lot of shrimp, but the 1oz that I got was a pitiful amount for a customer. Highway robbery is what it is, I-10 pulls em in and I guess they don't care if you come back or not because most people are passing through and may not ever come this way again. I definitely deserve a free meal and next time I will take a picture of my food and complain if it isn't satisfactory! Too many other great places to eat at in the...
