I love their tikka the best out of all the tikkas I’ve had in metro-Atlanta. I’ve been a regular customer since they opened because of it. It’s so aromatic and soothing. As a testament to how comforting it is, here’s a little background: I got Covid earlier this year and it has severely impacted my relationship with food. I don’t crave things; my smell and taste is muted; I barely remember to eat these days. In fact, I ended up having a severe arrhythmia episode a month ago that made me have to call 911. They had to restart my hearts twice, chemically. And then they had to take me to Dekalb Medical for observation and further testing. The whole ordeal lasted about 7 hours. When I was finally discharged (with a beta-blocker prescription and orders to take better care of myself by eating and hydrating consistently), my first thought was “Curry Up Now’s tikka!” We went straight there from the emergency room. When I took my first bite of the tikka burrito, I cried a little. It was so comforting to be able to taste and smell it, when so many other curries seem to not register for me anymore. The service is always so warm and friendly and helpful, too. It has been a safe place to go nourish myself and my loved ones, especially when the days are hard and the world seems harsh....
Read moreI love Curry Up Now. I order regularly from here, love the rewards, food tastes good. My concern is with the refund policy and how they take care of mistakes. My pickup order was missing all of the ingredients in one of my entrees and I called the restaurant to rectify this. The only option they gave was to come and pick up the missing items. I said not possible because that would require me to sit through rush hour traffic for 45 min for one entree and I said a refund would be fine, I would manage. I get directed to their website where the manager claims there’s an option to submit a refund. Not true. I look all over the website, my account, etc, but nothing. I called back and they said they can’t do anything because the website is a different platform. The website says to contact the restaurant.
The only thing the lady on the phone told me was that she will bring it to her manager (which is confusing because I was told she was the manager) and he will “see if he can do anything.” Which means nothing to me. All of this trouble for one item that they messed up, and I keep getting redirected to get my refund on an entree that we threw away due to the missing ingredients. So I guess I just gave Curry Up Now Decatur free money because I didn’t even get a full entree...
Read moreThis was our unexpected visit to 'Curry Up Now'. They welcome us right away & offer us menu. He help us in ordering. Dahi puri had a amazing freshness to it. Holi moli Fried ravioli was seems like freshly made & it was with nice lite goat cheese, I think. QuesadilliX was ok as per it says in menu.
The show stopper was The Grand 'Malpua Crepe with Gulab Jamun'. Almost right amount of sweetness with fresh aroma of variyali! You can't go wrong with it. It's a must try item. You need to keep a space for it in your lil tummy! All & all it is a nicely decor, Hip place with great service & great fresh fusion indiastreet food.
Update… As you see in the pic, they have a open utensils out on table in this corona times… when we ask for disposable, it wasn’t individually wrapped. Personally, I think quality of food is lil down too… Dahi puri & BHEL both had a lots & lots of channa (garbanzo beens) which makes it weird. It’s time to change plates too… Aluminum plates without any wax paper… feels like I’m eating @ al cheap o place in 4th world country. Even disposable plates have better look. Please...
