After spending hours in San Jose my boyfriend and I decided to stop here on our way home to grab some grub for ourselves and our friend who was with us at about 7pm. Usually the service is pretty good but today was particularly bad. We were served by an older Latina female- I did not catch her name.
We went in to order and everything seemed okay and got progressively worse. I ordered quickly because I already knew what I wanted, but she seemed really annoyed when asking me what kind of bread I wanted and if I wanted everything on it. My friend ordered next.
When my friend ordered she visibly rolled her eyes at her when she was deciding what kind of bread she wanted and sighed when she asked for no onions.
They began making our sandwiches and my boyfriend mentioned that he was going to get the same sandwich as myself whenever she was ready to take the rest of the order. He was not trying to be rude, he just wanted to let her know we would be ordering more.
After finishing both of our sandwiches she put them up on the counter and asked if that was all. He mentioned again that he would like the California club. She again rolled her eyes at him and asked him what bread he wanted. He asked for what kinds of bread there were. At this point she wipped open the top of the bread container so violently that the top popped off partially. After doing this she simply looked at him rather than telling him what there was.
At this point my friend and I began feeling very uncomfortable because something was clearly wrong.
While she was making the sandwich I turned to my boyfriend and asked that he only purchase 3 drinks so that we could share because I was not feeling very thirsty and had another drink waiting for me in the car.
She finished the sandwich and my boyfriend asked for two drinks and she very pointedly grabbed three and charged us for the extra drink we did not ask for.
We had pretty much given up with trying to communicate at this point because she was clearly upset about something and finished paying for the order.
There was a young girl working with her who seemed to be avoiding working near her and preferred to stay in the back to clean dishes. I felt for her because I myself as the guest was feeling very uncomfortable and she looked like she felt the same way. I would like to mention that her service to the guest who was ordering next to us was excellent and she was very professional.
I am a supervisor at a similar more large scale buisness and we have a saying, "Choose your attitude."
I do not like leaving bad reviews but I felt this had to be reported, her behavior was very unprofessional and she chose to have a bad attitude with us and other patrons. I really felt sorry for the girl working...
Read moreMy experience here the other day was awkward. The women working were not friendly at all. They looked miserable and were not hiding it. The woman at the register was not friendly and didn't smile. She looked like it was annoying her that I wanted to make an order. I asked what the bread options were and she just looked at me and pointed at the board. I even put a tip in the jar hoping she would brighten up a bit but that didn't work. The minutes waiting for my order were torture. The music was some depressing song and with the looks in the women's faces I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. The meatball sandwiches looked fine but my pastrami seemed thrown together and not what the picture looks like. I'm unsure if I'll ever go back. It's a bummer because this place used...
Read morePretty good location. They do pack them in during lunch. Service was good but felt rushed (I was at the end of the line). Sandwiches are ok, but similar to Subway. I wish they offered more premium ingredients. Although this is not a fault of this location.
Store was dirty (tables, floor, bathroom, drink station) but I think this was due to the lunch rush. It would be helpful if they focused less on soles, and balance other aspects as well.
Please get a new toilet! It took at least 6 minutes between flushes! My toilet at home is...
