This is nothing personal just our experience with this particular store. For reference I have worked for Domino's and other Pizza places before many years ago. I have decades of experience managing personnel from as few as 5 to as many as 142 and am currently a Chief of Operations.
That store has a serious management (or mismanagement) problem. The store manager is too complacent. It is leadership not likership.
We move here in early 2022. The first time I called the local Domino's (813 S Broad St) to order a Pizza for delivery I was told they didn't deliver to my area as it was too far. (9 min, 4.3 miles) so I ordered Marco's instead (15 min, 7.8 miles). Maybe they didn't have any delivery drivers, who knows but I didn't attempt order again for over a year assuming maybe they didn't want to drive up the Mt. Domino's was running a special last year, so I figured I'd give them another shot. I ordered Two, two topping Pizzas online and waited...and waited... and waited some more. An hour and a half from the time I placed the order, I attempted to call the store to insure there was nothing wrong and the order went through, and no one answered. I tried to call a few more time and meet with the same results and seeing as it was now two hours since I placed my order, I reached the determination that it wasn't coming... so I ordered Marco's. True to form The Marco's was there in 38 minutes from placing my order... 40 minutes later my Domino's order showed up in a record setting 3 hours and 18 minutes after I ordered it, and wrong order, not remotely close to what we ordered so I checked the receipt and wrong address on it. I tried to call the store one more time and of course there was no answer so in the trash the Domino's went.
Fast forward to a few months ago. My son at this point now works there. He had only worked there for around 6 months and been pulling double duty as a driver and in store. He had complained to the manager (and vented to me) that the other drivers would pick and choose their deliveries based on which ones had pre-tipped jump on the ones with larger tips and leave the others sitting for hours. My son would get back from a run and see an hour old order with no pre-tip and take it himself. Customers were understandably angry at the long delivery times and didn't tip. Why would they? The practice of choosing deliveries is against corporate policy and results in the customer having a bad experience. Despite complaints by customers and employees it goes un-addressed by the store manager.
I decided to give them another go. I ordered two orders of bone in Wings and a Pizza. Under normal conditions I will tip my standard online amount of $10 (and if the delivery driver is "Johnny on the spot") and our order gets here fast I'll add cash to it on the backside. I feel your tip depends on your performance. The Marco's drivers have figured this out and our food gets here quick as they know we tip well. I ordered online from Donino's and did NOT pre-tip. Over two hours later my son shows up with my order. I asked him what took so long, and he stated the following. "We are really busy, and I was on other deliveries. When I got back to the store after taking three other deliveries, I saw your order was still sitting on the rack. The other drivers wouldn't take it as there was no pre-paid tip. I told them to re-make the order as it had been sitting for over an hour. They didn't want to and said "F!@# that guy, maybe next time he'll tip." I told them It's my dad and he is pissed. why would he tip you for doing a sh!# job? He knows better than to tip anyone at this store before you deliver his food, you want a good tip you earn it by doing more than the bare minimum. Then I brought it myself."
He quit after that shift. He spoke with the manager again about the other drivers only taking the orders that had good or pre-paid tips and was given a BS excuse, so he said that was his last night.
There is now a chat on FB about this Donino's and their service or...
Read moreSo on Friday night past, my wife orders pizza for the kids. She waits in line 45 minutes to get to the window. At the window for 10 minutes is ignored. She pulls forward and parks and goes to the door which is locked and is waived Over to the window which she goes to and they refuse to come to. Come to find out they canceled the order. Manager says she called people and my wife. I said I would share that she did not by showing wife’s phone with no call showing. She changed tactic and said they were to busy and what could she do. It was better for one mad person than several. No apology. Nothing other than call corporate if I don’t like it. I have followed up with corporate but being franchise it is up to the owner. This location is going down hill fast. We were every Friday night customer but no more. Second time in 6 months something like this has happened.
Update 3/3/23: Just want to post I reached out like company suggested by email with my contact info and never heard a thing from them. Just want to make sure people know that there was no follow through for resolving issue. Just like people to know the truth instead of assuming issue was handled by...
Read moreAlways an issue. Took a few months break from Dominos due to this location. Tried again since I had my nieces over.
I received a cheese pizza that burned the kids and my lips(i tried it to be sure) I am 99% sure that they used jalapeño covered gloves to prepare our cheese pizza and ruined it for these children. I don't appreciate it at all.
Edit: Really insane you expect me to email suggestions to earn 5 stars on my next order rather than offering to make this order right when no one answers the phones there(changed from 2 stars to 1 based on your response). Thanks for the generic response and not caring if quality was assured, will be contacting corporate.
There will absolutely not be a "next order" I'd rather make homemade pizza or buy frozen so I can ensure the children can enjoy it. (Not from scottsboro)
You want my advice? SLOW DOWN. QUALITY SHOULD COME BEFORE QUANTITY. Stop pumping the out as fast as you can and instead make them as GOOD as you can.
-Sincerely, Uncle of 2 children who cried due to your jalapeño juice covered...
