California Pizza Kitchen in Scottsdale, I knew I was in for a fantastic dining experience. The warm, inviting atmosphere immediately set the tone for a relaxing meal. The restaurant was impeccably clean, with a modern yet cozy ambiance, and the soft background music added to the enjoyable atmosphere.
Our server greeted us with a bright smile and a genuine enthusiasm that made us feel truly welcome. She was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking in at just the right moments. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive she provided great recommendations and even customized our order to suit our preferences.
We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which arrived hot and bubbling, served with perfectly crispy tortilla chips. The rich, creamy texture of the dip was packed with flavor, striking the perfect balance between cheesy and savory.
For the main course, I ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza, a signature dish that completely lived up to its reputation. The thin, slightly crispy crust had the ideal chewiness, and the sweet, tangy barbecue sauce paired beautifully with the tender, perfectly seasoned grilled chicken. The red onions added a slight crunch, and the fresh cilantro gave it the perfect finishing touch. Every bite was bursting with flavor.
My dining companion opted for the Thai Crunch Salad, which was a vibrant mix of fresh, crisp cabbage, crunchy wontons, and grilled chicken tossed in a slightly spicy peanut dressing. The balance of flavors and textures made it one of the best salads weāve ever had.
To finish off our meal, we shared the Butter Cake, and it was simply divine. The warm, rich cake had a perfectly caramelized exterior, and the inside was decadently soft. Paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of raspberry sauce, it was the ultimate indulgence.
Overall, our experience at California Pizza Kitchen in Scottsdale was nothing short of exceptional. The service, the ambiance, and most importantly the food were all top notch. Whether youāre looking for a casual lunch, a date night spot, or a place to catch up with friends, this restaurant delivers in every way. I canāt wait to return and try more of their incredible dishes! Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a former regular from Dana Park that followed Marshall to this location. I love CPK and was completely shocked by my experience. I was hesitant to share this experience but I decided that even if I did not know Marshall I would be put off by my visit. When I walked in no one greeted me at the door. I spotted Marshall and waved, he was taking a phone order so we waited to be seated. As he hangs up the phone the manager walks buy and yells "I don't know what you're doing answering the phone. This isn't Dana Park, we're not doing $200 in takeout a day." This was in front of all the customers. Marshall seated us, got drinks and took our orders. During this time he was asked to help at the bar and sat most of the guests that came in but was still quick to serve us. The place was very clean and I liked the layout better, so I was hoping I could brush off that little incident from the beginning but then as Marshall was bringing our bread and refills a cook came halfway to him and yelled, again in front of all the customers, that he had been calling him to take our appetizer out. Few points here, we weren't upset with the speed of our service at all, the appetizer was still hot so obviously not up for long, and as someone with years in the food industry - anyone could have ran that plate out, including the cook who walked halfway out. It wasn't busy. Many other staff members were standing around, the entire time we were there and again, no one should ever be corrected in front of customers. The food was fantastic, so the overall experience could have been great. It seems like a bad place to work and the public correction just made our night uncomfortable. I don't think I'll be able to bring my business back to this location and that's a bummer because I really enjoy Marshall, Royce, the CPK menu...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food has always been consistently tasty and the portions are fine for the price. The service is what is lacking. All too clearly, no one is in charge. Our dinner for two took almost two hours. During this time, we watched three of the four servers, screw around, argue over who should take each table that was sat, text on their cell phones, etc. Eye contact was made when people came in, but no one would acknowledge the guests or offer to seat them. They would simply tell the busser to do it. They didnāt help the one server who was clearly overwhelmed, or each other. We saw at least four other tables of guests (including us), trying to flag someone down for drink refills. Just disappointing all around. No one ever checked on us once our meals were served. We had to wave to get someoneās attention for everything. I was SO upset when this chain started closing itās locations around the valley. Their Thai Crunch salad had been one of my go-to faves for years. When I heard there was still a CPK open in Scottsdale, we happily drove from Gilbert for a casual dinner. If thereās a next time, it will be...
