Groupon didn’t want to publish my real review so here it is. This was the worst massage I have ever been to. I booked a couples massage for my husband and I’s anniversary. When we arrived, the building was extremely warm inside as they did not use a/c and had to be requested (Arizona reaches 100 degrees). The lady at the front rushed us to the back and left the room. We assumed this was where they expected us to undress and lay on the massage bed. Well, we did that. The bed sheets were cold and damp and the towels we used to cover up barely did anything. The massage itself was mediocre, the lady who massaged my husband only mimicked what my masseur did. It was not relaxing. Here’s another catch, they had a third staff member in the room for about 20 minutes just watching. They did not inform us of this - I peeked my head up and noticed. GROSS! As we were about to leave, the masseurs stopped up and offered us chips. That’s when the main lady ran out from her office at the front and asked us if we wanted to tip. We didn’t want to, but we knew it would be the right thing to do. I explained that we purchased a Groupon and did not have cash, so the tip would have to go on a card. I told the lady to tip $10 total, $5 for each masseur. The lady looked at me, laughed, and said “That’s not enough, $15-$20 minimum”. HA! Booked a 90 minute couples massage. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his. We didn’t catch her name, but she was great. The rooms were clean and the music was nice.

No one really spoke or understood English. We were given no direction once we entered the room on how lay/cover etc, but we’ve had a lot of massages before so we roughly knew what to do.

The massage started ten minutes late (we laid awkwardly for nearly fifteen minutes which was actually pretty funny). My massage person seemed very inexperienced. They chatted in mandarin (it could’ve been something else) to each other during the massage. At one point, he left the room and burped upon re-entry. The massage movements were repetitious and varied wildly with pressure as though he was distracted. I wanted to terminate the massage after 30 minutes, but didn’t. I should have. At one point he cupped my buttocks and I asked him to remove his hand, which he did. When he used a towel to remove the excess oil, it was done roughly, like drying off a freshly washed dog.

My husband tipped his massage therapist but we declined to tip mine. They were clearly annoyed/confused with us. Although it made us very uncomfortable, we were adamant only she would receive a tip.
