I’ve always enjoyed eating at Rubio’s, but lately the food has become hit or miss. Unfortunately, my last visit was very disappointing and will be my last.
The Fish Tacos Especial I ordered were uncooked, soggy, and cold to the touch. Absolutely inedible! The tacos were also tiny and not even prepared correctly. The burrito we ordered was wrong as well, missing sauce and mostly filled with rice.
When I arrived, the cashier mentioned they were running behind and food would take about 15 minutes. I was fine with waiting, but it ended up taking about 40 minutes. They were also out of pinto beans for the side so I subbed for street corn and they were out of that too. At one point, the cashier with extremely long fingernails went into the kitchen to help cook but loudly complained she didn’t know how to cook. The restaurant itself was dirty, tables had leftover food, the salsa bar was a mess and the salsa was not cool, and several iced tea options hadn’t been brewed. Other customers were complaining too and asking for refunds.
When I brought up the uncooked fish to the manager, his response was unconcerned, which was especially troubling given the health risk. He did refund our meal, and we left our food untouched to eat elsewhere.

Read moreTried to do an online order for pick up and the system wouldn't let me complete the order so I called it in by phone. I ordered the same items and the total the guy on the phone gave me was 6.00 more. I explained that was not the total that it came to when I tried to place the order online and he said oh I rang you up for one of the tacos for a meal and gave me a new total. The total was still not the same. When I arrived I showed him the order on my phone and asked the young man what the price differences were and why it was more for the same items. He confirmed that one item was in fact ringing higher than what it was ranging up online and then told me I didn't ring in the same items. They were the same. I thought they would at least take off the difference since the prices were different then what is posted online for that location but nothing. Not an apology or any credit. He just looked at me like oh well too bad pay it or don't get your food. Then the food was cold and I opened it to eat it right as we got in the car. Read moreUnbelievable my daughter and I got two bowls. We told them to hold the rice and they literally held the rice and put barely any lettuce. It just looks like it was maybe halfway full. It doesn’t cost that much to add extra lettuce. Unbelievable and it’s pretty dirty inside there. The self-service Buffay needs to be cleaned and refilled constantly floors need to be mopped. You have a bunch of teenagers working there pay people little bit more money and get quality.
I noticed there were several complaints. Same complaint I have you’re putting in way too little meat and your customer service is horrible. The kids are rude!
