Haggerty's Pub & Eatery — Restaurant in Scranton

Would give 5 stars because the food is absolutely delicious but unfortunately our waiter was extremely rude. He was average height I believe he had brown hair, he looked like he surfed and had a small accent My coworkers and I went there last night (1/11/24) to have a drink and chat. The waiter came over and asked if he could grab us some drinks. My co worker asked if they had any specials on their alcohol drinks (she had never been here before) and he got frustrated and rudely asked for her ID. His words “let me see your ID because obviously you’re not over 21 if you’re asking questions like that.” There were a few other moments where he was extremely rude, but When he brought out the check we asked if we can have our check split because they only take cash and some of us only had much more than we needed. He said “we only take cash so do the math” and walked away. He came around a few times as we were trying to divide the money and exchange bills saying things like “it’s simple math do I need to do it for you” or “you guys are still trying to figure it out? It’s not that hard let me do it” and at that point we were all frustrated with his behavior and just told him we were okay and didn’t need the help. Found this little gem when my husband was working in the area. I picked it based on the reviews and so glad I did. The place was hopping with customers and the bartenders did a fantastic job of keeping the drinks full. The owner helped us find a seat as soon as we walked in and the service from that point on was incredible! The young female bartender reminded me of myself in the “old days”. She had lots of energy to match the atmosphere and was speedy with your next beverage, served with a big smile. We each got wings and shared the garbage fries, which was all delicious!! Big crispy wings with crispy celery to match and they were not skimpy on the Bleu Cheese either. Hopefully our travels take us back this way because I’d love to...
