Ok. Fun story. So, Ocean Avenue Kitchen was closed because it was Monday and the new Thai restaurant closed at 9pm, it was 8:50, so we popped into the new place in the old Dive space.
Now, I saw the menu and it read like someone matching orange pants with a purple shirt. Hint: Gorgonzola cheese and lobster aren't a good combo.
We ordered the empanadas of the day: Buffalo Chicken. Not bad but a little dry and the bleu cheese dressing should have come out of a bottle because what was on the plate looked like curdled heavy cream but tasted like nothing.
My wife had the steak tacos, my son had the panko salmon and I had the Pork Duo. The server (great by the way), took a temperature for the steak tacos (Medium Rare), not for the salmon and I just reflexively gave one for the "Tomahawk" porkchop (also Medium Rare).
The steak taco meat came out completely cooked Well. It had obviously been cut and then cooked, not cooked and then cut, like you would do if you were cooking to temperature. The Salmon came out Medium Well, par for the course is you're not taking temperatures, but there was no hint of panko and the green sauce was flavorless. My son did compliment the fries. On to the Pork Duo. I have to say that I hadn't eaten all day. I was about to eat my shoe. As you can see by my picture, the porkchop was Well Done, and the pork belly on the side looked like Kingsford. No sides. I sent it back without tasting it. The plate was super hot, I have to imagine that it was sitting under the heat lamp for a while. I'm now at home enjoying my leftover Chinese food...
   Read moreDo NOT come here if youâre a person of color. I and my coworkers came after leaving Donovanâs Reef, meanwhile weâre ALL servers and bartenders. We all work at Salt Creek Grille in Rumsom. All my friends were able to get in free yet me and friend ( the only two girls of color ) the bouncer looked at us and told the other bouncer to charge us. I laughed and said wait why are you only charging us two and my other friends can get in free? He said charge them I do not care, we both paid but were confused. One of my coworkers said I donât know him I donât understand why he said he knew us, so it was evident he was prejudice. Moving forward I felt uncomfortable and didnât spend any money inside. As we were all leaving the same bouncer said I hope you ladies have a good night to my coworkers who he allowed in free and then looked at me and my friend that paid to get inside and said â I hope yall have an OK nightâ then proceeded to laugh with his other colleagues. I feel extremely humiliated, Iâve never been treated in such a matter and I will also continue to speak to the general manager tomorrow regarding this matter because this should not be swept under the rug. Iâve been in the hospitality and restaurant service for almost ten years ....

We initially thought we might like to come back and try other things, but then we had âissuesâ with the check. The menu did state that there would be a charge for credit card transactions, so I told the bartender that I intended to pay with cash. He gave me the check, which despite stating I would pay cash, included a mysterious âService Feeâ. I told him I was just going to âback that out myselfâ since I was paying cash. I then notice that I was charged $20 for the chicken sandwich but on the menu it was listed as $19. I pointed this out, and the bartender said âthat is weirdâ, he was not offering to correct the price of my check even though I was emphasizing that âit was indeed weird that I chose the chicken based on the price on the menu that he presented to me, and then the bill had a higher price on itâ.
