This was my 1st time there and unfortunately I was not impressed. After you are seated you review the menu (which starts at $25 without drinks or sides) go up to a counter, order your food, than go sit down. When it's done a waiter brings it over in a metal tray and that's pretty much the last time you are approached, if you want another drink you go up and pay for another bottle. It's more of a self service restaurant. I got the lobster special which was 1 1/4 pounds of lobster, potatoes and an ear of corn. The corn & potatoes were good but the lobster was just 1 whole lobster. The lobster had no taste, was rubbery and had very little meat (And yes I've had several lobster dinners before) than I had to ask for hot melted butter. The other thing I didnt like was the beverage choice - you had to buy the drinks by the bottle and the only soda they offered were off brands RC cola, orange & birch beer ..no Coke or Pepsi brands or diet. When we went to leave there was a side area that the servers used but it was also a direct exit to the street. As we were leaving I asked one of the servers if I could take my mom out that way because it was closer for her to walk (she has had several stokes) and he told us no and had a horriable attitude about it. It's not like it was a secure area or near any equipment, I think they just had their menus back there. However on a positive note, the staff was very very nice and the dining area was very nice & clean. Anyway I would not recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA classic Sea Isle spot. Great Atmosphere, fantastic food, and superb service every time, which is really impressive considering the volume of people they serve nightly in peak season. You can order for pickup or eat on the dock, which is really an awesome experience in itself, especially if you get nice weather.
However, some words of advice if you do decide to eat on the dock. First and foremost, be prepared for a long wait, particularly in peak summer season. They DO NOT do call ahead/reservations, so itās first come first serve. Believe me, Iāve been in lines over an hour long. Second, itās a open air dock so, depending on the weather, it can get very warm and muggy, despite the ceiling fans. Keep this in mind if you have young kids or elderly guests with you. Additionally, the seats are Wooden benches with no backs, so again keep this in mind for elderly guests or others who may have difficulty. Lastly, due to the high volume of customers, Mikeās operates on a system where you place the order for your table and prepay at the counter, and they bring it out to you when itās ready. They will most likely tell you this upon seating, but I have seen groups who wait around fruitlessly for 1/2 hour or more for a waitress to come take their order. Also, itās BYOB.
So all in all, this is a fantastic place, and I highly recommend you try it if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped here as soon as we got into town last week and had our first crabcake sandwich with sautĆ©ed crabmeat on the season and WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! I donāt know if since it was slow they hooked us up (my girlfriend is a regular) or what because we didnāt remember there being so much sautĆ©ed crabmeat on the sandwich, I am not kidding when I say that there was 1/3 pound or more spilling out of, what Iād guess to be super lump crabmeat, on top of a beautifully fried crabcake perched on top of a fresh round roll. I do wish the crabcake itself had less filler and I thought the crab cake itself could have used a little old bay and a squirt of lemon which they happily had provided. The fried were hot, crispy outside and light and fluffy inside and came to the table nice and piping hot (thank you! I hate when a restaurant delivers cold fried to the table, they are literally the first thing you grab. But who wants a soggy french fry to get their taste buds salivating right before digging into the main course?! It just sets a bad precedent for the rest of the meals). Not only are the fries hot and but they are seasoned well, and you could tell that they had been cooked at the proper temperature in a clean fryer oil (I hate dirty tasting oil). They are byob so remember to bring your own beverages if...
