What a frustrating experience, I won't be back. I ordered 2 bagels, both with "very little butter". I arrived and they said they don't have cranberry orange bagels, no problem, just do cinnamon raisin. As I'm driving into work I pull the first item out of the bag, and a 1/4 cup of "melted butter" pours out all over my center console and splashes on my $52 dress work pants! It was a comically amount of "butter", basically a soup with a bagel floating on top of it. Even if I wanted the default amount of butter, there is no one that could stomach this much on a bagel. (the picture is after all the liquid poured out already) So I gingerly pull out the second bagel (that was made first) and it is a bit drier, but still greasy. It looked to have a very thick slice of melted white american cheese on it? I scraped some of it away and it was still too much spread, but whatever. I take a bite and it tastes like spoiled sour cream! I don't know what the spread even was, it wasn't butter, margarine or cream cheese... just some revolting spoiled dairy flavor. I also ordered the $9 whole deli sandwich for lunch, so when I got to work i thought I should check it out, and it is a slider sided sandwich with 3 slices of turkey! WTH! (see it next to my cell phone for comparison!) It's not even ciabatta bread, looks like some dinner roll. Wow, they ripped me off good, so $16.47 down the drain, and now I have to go buy a canister of interior wipes to try to...
Read moreWe’ve been wanting to try this place since we come to the Seaford area every weekend for hubby’s work. Finally got there on a Friday lunchtime. It was very disappointing. First of all, the tables were sticky. Not just a little tacky, but stick-your-arm-to-the-surface sticky! We asked if something could be done, and a very pleasant man came and sprayed some substance and wiped it. Since this did nothing to alleviate the tacky surface, we decided the spray itself was the culprit. So we covered the table with paper placemats and carried on. I order a pick two: salad and half egg salad sandwich on a bagel. The sandwich was ok and the salad would have been fine but the “raspberry” dressing was watery and tasted like perfume. Hubby’s bagel and salad were ok if uninspiring. We both had regular coffee which tasted fine but was stored in thermos containers and was none too hot. After I finished my meal, I felt under-caffeinated so decided to order a latte to go. There were none on the menu so I ordered a cappuccino. When I tasted it to see if it needed sugar, it was flavored! With vanilla! No mention of this yucky flavor on the menu itself, so I returned it for a refund. Impression: service is good, wait staff friendly, kind and helpful. Food and coffee at best are mediocre and specialty coffee undrinkable. We weren’t missing much by not getting to this place for the first two months...
Read moreSo, when I 1st moved here from NJ, I found this bagel place. At 1st impression I thought not to bad. Not a Jersey bagel but acceptable. Over the course of 4 years their quality has dramatically decreased to the point I will no longer purchase bagels from them. They are officially an insult to my pallet. Their Taylor Ham is tissue paper thin, anything with bacon on it is 2 little strips, their bagels are as bland as you can get, and they need to learn how to make a breakfast sandwich. Tip of advice for Davellis, Taylor Ham should be cut to at least 1/2 inch thickness, anything with bacon on it should have at least 6 strips of bacon on it at the bare minimum. As far as putting cream cheese on bagels, make sure you put a good amount of it on. You don't put enough of it on. You have officially...
