Doña Maria's Pupuseria — Restaurant in Seaford

Omgoodnessss I'm so happy to find this place! I moved to MD from Las Vegas in 2003 and have tried and tried to find a truly authentic place for Latin food... Every time I find a so called authentic place I ask for 3 things... Tamales, ceviche, fish tacos(not americanized) and horchata.... this is the only place that has had true tamales and horchata and great tasting too!! My first time trying papusas actually and I'm not disappointed. The laroco flower and the black bean being my favorite. I ordered 3 of every flavor to take to my fiance's band practice along with sides of black beans and rice. Everybody loved everything! My fiance, even loved the black beans which he turned his nose up at the idea lol and he loved the plantain fritas oh and he was even surprised that he liked horchata! It was great! I just wish you could get the papusa packs with more than one flavor. We'll be back regularly until we move back to the west coast. I guess I have to wait til then for my fish tacos and...

I had the worse experience. I called to place an order over the phone because if you expect to walk in a get your food in less than 30 min, your in for a treat. During the call, she asked to put me on hold which was okay. The phone got disconnected and when I called back, I apologized and stated that I believed the call was disconnected. She replied “the phone wasn’t disconnected, you hung up, you hung up.” I was confused because her aggressive tone was not necessary. She is the older person working there and she says she’s family with the owner. I will NEVER order from this place and recommend no one to go here unless you want to be treated poorly. All the other team members are super nice but that old lady shouldn’t work there. The owners should remove her because she’s destroying this place. I used to come here all the time, always loved the food & the good service. But for whatever reason this visit, we waited an hour for our take out order. I get that there was a party of 8 in front of us, but I never had ever waited so long for pupusas…until today. I’m not sure if today they were so shorthanded which was why the wait was long…but we were told it was gonna be 20 min. And all the waiters didn’t seem to be in sync with their communication with each other. There was also two tables that hadn’t been cleaned up, full of trash & dishes from previous customers, and in the hour we been here they still haven’t been cleaned.
