It's very deserving of 5 stars☆ It starts right when you walk in the door & see all the.... desserts staring at (bet you thought I was going to say all the people sitting there waiting)😁. Just get one on your way out. As I can almost guarantee that you ate everything on your plate, the meals are so good. So, yes! You can have dessert. Mom and I have been there a couple of times now. Each time seems to get better. The customers are so kind too. A couple gave us their turn in line as we hadn't eaten all day due to appointments. I didn't want mom to wait forty minutes, so I ran to the bathroom before we went in search of a quicker meal, came back to find that they gave us their place. I about had tears. Saw them on the way out, so we shared what we had chosen for our meals. The gentleman was very impressed with the pork chops. Our next visit, I couldn't get the pork chops off my mind. Hence, the pic of my beautiful plate of food. Mom had the pot roast dinner. She couldn't have been happier. We had the best time. The staff made it even that much more special. Our server Luis was having a son in a few days, so we all agreed on my brother's name, Terry. Congrats, Luis! Have to say, kindness is just everywhere. What a great atmosphere.

The menu at Hofa Hut is diverse and caters to a variety of tastes. From hearty breakfast options to savory lunch and dinner dishes, there's something for everyone. The pancakes are fluffy and generously portioned, while the sandwiches are crafted with fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Their homemade soups are a standout, offering rich and comforting flavors that are perfect for a chilly day. The bakery section is equally impressive, boasting an array of freshly baked breads, pastries, and desserts. The croissants are particularly noteworthy—flaky, buttery, and simply delicious. Service at Hofa Hut is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Overall, Hofa Hut Restaurant & Bakery is a must-visit for anyone looking for a satisfying meal in a delightful setting. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee and pastry or settling in for a full meal, you won't be disappointed.

It was like walking back into nostalgia, staff friendly, well kept, clean, and blast from the past ombiance. Good food, attentive service, and great company to add to our experience on our first visit. If you experienced being waited on by a friendly duo; a warm smiling server, and robot counter-part, fun, fun, fun and to see the kids looking in anticipation for a special delivery of hot food from this futuristic pal. It's definitely a conversation piece, and I even found myself reaching for the camera on my cell to capture this unique arrival spinning throughout the restaurant. Did I say kids? Well, all adults alike on their first visit caught interest. We look forward to another adventure to Hoffs Hut from Orange to Seal Beach in the future ahead.

Disregard the below review. What once a great place, excellent food and service has gone to the dogs. They destroyed my favorite Samural Adam Fish fillets and cheaply serve what amounts to fish sticks. Cabbage salad was half filled and fries were a combo of hot and cold mixed together. Husband's meals was just as bad. We had ordered deserts and breads to go...they destroyed the pumpkin loafs, and the flavor of apple pie was mediocre at best. Attitudes were such as to say, don't bother me. I can't believe how quickly this place has changed. Poor Service, poor quality of food and bakery items, too shame they lost us, as long long and multiple restaurants over the years customers.

This NEW restaurant is Great! We swore, we would never go back to Los Alamitos store due to terrible food and service, pre Covid!

  • This is from 3 years ago*(GOOD review is below this one) The chicken on top of salad was jerky fried and my fav, stacy adam beer batter fish and chips were swimming in a plate of oil. SO....Fast Forward to June 2022! We decided to try the NEW HOFS HUT on seal beach blvd. Due to health issues, we do not do sit downs currently. We both ordered THE Fish and Chips dinner togo. Our Big Mistake was not going earlier as all their desserts were picked over, so not individual pies... We waited in the lobby and all the employees were very nice,"..have you been helped?...are you waited to be seated?(we were the onlys there at the moment). Its the first time since everything has reopened that the employees were actually doing their job. Soo pleasant for a change! Unfortunately, we live past Knotts Berry farm so husband loosened the lids on our dinners, hoping the fish and chips would not be soggy when we got home.. The FISH??? Still was crispy and sooo good. Fries were a little on the cold side but thats probably because the lids were moved. My husband does not like cole slaw, He ate his. I so enjoyed the cole slaw too because someone did not pour a gallon of vinegar on it like the last restaurant! This was my Birthday meal. No presents, flowers or balloons! This was probably one of the best takeout meals we have ever had. WAY TO GO HOF'S HUT! P.S., We have entertained your other restaurants over the years. Even raised our children at Hof's over the years...And miss them all! Buena Park, Torrance, Garden Grove, Irvine, Bixby Knolls,Signal Hill, If you managed to read this far. You won't go wrong at this Restaurant, Hof's Hut, Seal Beach. BUT, get there early for...

My friends and I had been going to the Cerritos location for probably a decade or so when it closed. That was a sad day for me. That was definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I knew of the other locations but didn't bother with them. They always seemed a little different to me. I actually went to the original Seal Beach location at one point but the wait was too long so I left. It was also a bit run down there.

When I heard they were opening this location I was excited because I frequent this shopping center. That was a while back and I actually forgot all about it until this past weekend. Given the fact that several of my favorite restaurants had closed forever during the pandemic I was very excited to try this Hof's Hut location.

This location has a great old school diner vibe but is modernized. They actually have a robot that brings food out to the tables to speed things up too. Very cool. The service was good. Our server was quick and friendly.

We got the chicken pot pie, club sandwich, a side of garlic cheese bread, and the pumpkin cheesecake. The club sandwiches were always my go-to in the old days at the Cerritos location. I have to say, nothing has changed. It's great. It tastes exactly the same as I remember and brings back a lot of memories of hanging out with friends at the old location. The garlic cheese bread was also exactly the same. I had never tried the pot pie before but it was really good. It's also really big. The pumpkin cheesecake was just kind of whatever for me. It was okay. Nothing to write home about but it wasn't bad.

I think the restaurant is reasonably priced these days too. I've been to some restaurants that lean more towards the fast food side that are just as expensive if not more expensive than here. I can definitely say that this will be a regular stop for us when in the area. You just can't go wrong with Hoff's Hut.

One last thought. In the old days they had multiple versions of the club sandwich. There was a regular club sandwich, country club, and health club. I don't remember the specifics of the first two but I remember the health club was a great option because it was a healthier version of the club sandwich. I don't remember what all it had on it but it did have turkey bacon. It would be nice to see that as an option...

Updated 6/15/2024 from 4 to 5 stars!

Had a wonderful experience as we've come to expect from Hof's Hut. Food is always good, and the service was top notch thanks to our server, Adriana!

P.S. All the issues in my previous review seem to have been addressed and the restaurant is back on my list of go-to places.

We like coming to Hof's Hut because the food is always good and usually, the service is too, but we were a little disappointed in the service today.

We entered the restaurant on Sunday 9/3/23 at roughly 2:50pm. First, I noticed there were many open booths available yet was told there was a 15 min wait to be seated. This was odd and made me think that perhaps they were short staffed.

Once we were seated, our server took our order and in a short while, a gentleman delivered it to our table. Our server checked on us once but that was the last we saw of her. We ate and were ready to pay our check but our check never came. I didn't get a good look at our server so I wasn't sure which was ours and was unable to flag her down, so after waiting a bit longer, I decided to go up to the bar area and asked the lady, who appeared to be a manager or assistant manager, if I could pay my check there. She obliged and I was on my way.

An observance during our visit: As we were being seated, we passed by a table that needed bussing. We saw a young man walk by the table many times then back to the hostess stand, where he was drinking a soda, before deciding to clear away the dishes and wipe down the table as he flung the pieces of food to the seat and floor (this process took him 15 minutes); later we observed another table needing clearing, which sat for another 10 minutes while the young man sipped his soda before deciding to clear it. This must be his first job with no one showing him what to do (poor kid) as he stacked the dirty glasses and sat them on the clean table behind him so he could wipe down the dirty table (the dirty glasses were still on the clean table as we left the restaurant).

I wonder if the restaurant is under new management because it sure felt like it was...
