Disregard the below review. What once a great place, excellent food and service has gone to the dogs. They destroyed my favorite Samural Adam Fish fillets and cheaply serve what amounts to fish sticks. Cabbage salad was half filled and fries were a combo of hot and cold mixed together. Husband's meals was just as bad. We had ordered deserts and breads to go...they destroyed the pumpkin loafs, and the flavor of apple pie was mediocre at best. Attitudes were such as to say, don't bother me. I can't believe how quickly this place has changed. Poor Service, poor quality of food and bakery items, too shame they lost us, as long long and multiple restaurants over the years customers.
This NEW restaurant is Great! We swore, we would never go back to Los Alamitos store due to terrible food and service, pre Covid!
My friends and I had been going to the Cerritos location for probably a decade or so when it closed. That was a sad day for me. That was definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I knew of the other locations but didn't bother with them. They always seemed a little different to me. I actually went to the original Seal Beach location at one point but the wait was too long so I left. It was also a bit run down there.
When I heard they were opening this location I was excited because I frequent this shopping center. That was a while back and I actually forgot all about it until this past weekend. Given the fact that several of my favorite restaurants had closed forever during the pandemic I was very excited to try this Hof's Hut location.
This location has a great old school diner vibe but is modernized. They actually have a robot that brings food out to the tables to speed things up too. Very cool. The service was good. Our server was quick and friendly.
We got the chicken pot pie, club sandwich, a side of garlic cheese bread, and the pumpkin cheesecake. The club sandwiches were always my go-to in the old days at the Cerritos location. I have to say, nothing has changed. It's great. It tastes exactly the same as I remember and brings back a lot of memories of hanging out with friends at the old location. The garlic cheese bread was also exactly the same. I had never tried the pot pie before but it was really good. It's also really big. The pumpkin cheesecake was just kind of whatever for me. It was okay. Nothing to write home about but it wasn't bad.
I think the restaurant is reasonably priced these days too. I've been to some restaurants that lean more towards the fast food side that are just as expensive if not more expensive than here. I can definitely say that this will be a regular stop for us when in the area. You just can't go wrong with Hoff's Hut.
One last thought. In the old days they had multiple versions of the club sandwich. There was a regular club sandwich, country club, and health club. I don't remember the specifics of the first two but I remember the health club was a great option because it was a healthier version of the club sandwich. I don't remember what all it had on it but it did have turkey bacon. It would be nice to see that as an option...

Had a wonderful experience as we've come to expect from Hof's Hut. Food is always good, and the service was top notch thanks to our server, Adriana!
P.S. All the issues in my previous review seem to have been addressed and the restaurant is back on my list of go-to places.
We like coming to Hof's Hut because the food is always good and usually, the service is too, but we were a little disappointed in the service today.
We entered the restaurant on Sunday 9/3/23 at roughly 2:50pm. First, I noticed there were many open booths available yet was told there was a 15 min wait to be seated. This was odd and made me think that perhaps they were short staffed.
Once we were seated, our server took our order and in a short while, a gentleman delivered it to our table. Our server checked on us once but that was the last we saw of her. We ate and were ready to pay our check but our check never came. I didn't get a good look at our server so I wasn't sure which was ours and was unable to flag her down, so after waiting a bit longer, I decided to go up to the bar area and asked the lady, who appeared to be a manager or assistant manager, if I could pay my check there. She obliged and I was on my way.
An observance during our visit: As we were being seated, we passed by a table that needed bussing. We saw a young man walk by the table many times then back to the hostess stand, where he was drinking a soda, before deciding to clear away the dishes and wipe down the table as he flung the pieces of food to the seat and floor (this process took him 15 minutes); later we observed another table needing clearing, which sat for another 10 minutes while the young man sipped his soda before deciding to clear it. This must be his first job with no one showing him what to do (poor kid) as he stacked the dirty glasses and sat them on the clean table behind him so he could wipe down the dirty table (the dirty glasses were still on the clean table as we left the restaurant).
I wonder if the restaurant is under new management because it sure felt like it was...
