Came here for the first time on a weekday around 2. Parking was easy, there’s a lot right outside.
First thing I noticed was the smell (like old carpet? Musty?) which is expected in an old dive like this, and I did get used to it and go nose blind but it really hit me walking in, I wasn’t sure I could stay.
We waited at the bar for quite a while before somebody showed up, but they were very friendly. The alcohol selection wasn’t great as far as variety, same for mixers.
We played pool and the tables were good, they take quarters. They have an atm and a change machine as well as a coin machine so everything you need to play pool and pinball and the claw machine.
At first the only sound was a single (noisy) pinball game and people chatting, no music or anything. It was sort of peaceful and a great vibe. Eventually the music came on and it was a bit loud for a weekday at 2 but the content was fine, I didn’t pay much attention, I was just there to play pool.
We ordered nachos which were a 3/5, just meh. Shredded cheese on chips with diced tomato, pickled red onion, and pickled jalapeños but black olives, and they were out of sour cream. It’s a limited menu, not a dinner place.
We won the beanie baby claw machine (which is an adorable touch for this place) three times and only spent like $15. It was a lot of fun! I don’t usually waste money on claw machines but it was only $1 and my partner is a wizard with those things (construction).
It was also pretty hot, uncomfortably so. The thermostat said 74, but it didn’t feel like it. I was in that uncomfy about to break a sweat range for a very long time.
Smokers gather in the parking lot and there’s a bucket for butts but there’s not much room out there. It would be great to have a small area for smokers to go, especially encouraging it to be a bit farther from the entrance. This place would be incredible with a smoking patio.
Every single person I encountered here was an absolute delight. It was a little strange but it felt very comfortable and down to earth. It felt like a mostly blue collar crowd, very casual. I noticed like 60% of the people there (no joke) were wearing a tee with some type of brewing company logo on it.
Despite all its shortcomings, I had a wonderful time here and will absolutely be back. Just maybe not in the summer when it’s so hot.
Edit, second visit: 76 this time. Bartender not super present, I think he takes a lot of smoke breaks. Won more beanie babies though. I’ll be back for the...
Read moreMy husband & I have started trying to do budget date nights under $40 so when I came across this little place within walking distance of our new home advertising free pool & games on Thursdays & it just happened to be Thursday night I knew it was meant to be!
Definitely don't be detoured by the outside because once inside the place is huge! It is full of pinball machines, ski ball, video golf and pool tables with enough people that it didn't feel empty at allbut not so many that you had to wait forever for the games or to get a drink.
Immediately we went up to the bar to get a drink & order some of the delicious greasy spoon offerings I had read about in the reviews.
The bartender acknowledged us right away despite being in a conversation with other patrons, he then came right over to welcome us & take our order.
It was then we received the sad news that they stopped serving food at 9pm & only had chips or grandma's cookies to offer. (We took some of each)
The drinks were priced slightly higher then expected in a dive bar at $7.50 each but strong enough to be worth it.
We never made it to play pool so I can't verify that it was for sure free that night but the other games were not.
I misread my options and fed video golf $8 which bought more time then we needed so after having our fun we passed it on to a nearby couple to enjoy and moved on to pinball. This was also a lot of fun but read how much each one costs carefully! The older 25 cent one I found way more fun then the 75 cent per game machine. Since boxing was broken we finished with ski ball and cashed out just under $40 for a successful night!
I only didn't give it 5 stars because the bathroom left a lot to be desired with the men's even overflowing while we were there. Besides that...
Good atmosphere, awesome bartender, fun games, great drinks and a cheap night out... We will definitely frequent this place & hopefully try the food next time!
BONUS!! I just found out it is a dog friendly establishment so feel free to bring your...
Read moreI recently moved to Seattle and decided to visit this bar. Initially, I had a great time, enjoying the atmosphere and service. However, my experience took a turn after a couple of hours. I went to the bar to grab a game, and the bartender who had just started his shift noticed my Ohio ID had a hole punched in it. He refused to serve me, which I understand. I returned to my table, but shortly after, the bartender came over and asked me to leave.
While I acknowledge that the bartender was legally in the right, the inconsistency in the bar's policies was frustrating. One moment I was allowed to be there, and the next I was deemed not legal to stay. This inconsistency felt borderline targeted. It's one thing to refuse service, but it's another to kick me out after I had already been there for hours.
Additionally, I was with five friends who were also asked to leave, and none of them had their IDs checked at any point. We had to leave our drinks on the table, which added to the frustration.
If I were the owner of this establishment, I would be concerned about the message this sends. The lack of consistent enforcement of ID policies and the abrupt way we were treated reflects poorly on the bar’s management. Consistency and clear communication are key to a positive customer experience, and unfortunately, this bar fell short in...
