Found another gem in our neighborhood. I love the vibe and how clean it is. Great selections of sushi and sashimi. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality you’re getting. Service was very great and very attentive. Food was made at a pretty reasonable time. Both the sushi chef and the people attending to us were very welcoming. I’ll definitely visit often. Of course the food was amazing.

We were randomly roaming the streets of West Seattle, away from all the touristic sites and stumbled upon Azuma. It was thanksgiving and most places are closed. We decided to give a go and lucky us it turned out a local gem. First impression, Azuma Sushi is very clean. We were very hungry and ordered a lot of food and loved all the dishes. My wife also tried and loved one of the Japanese bears.

We came in 15 mins before close so I’m very appreciative of them taking us in and letting us order dinner. The sushi quality is pretty good and I liked the noodle soup too. Preparation was okay and ate standard of the sushi was fair across all other types of sushi restaurants. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving sushi, I recommend to give them a try.

I moved to this area in 2020, just before the COVID shutdowns. This restaurant looked like a great local neighborhood sushi place that I could go to a couple times a month - good neighborhood reviews at that time.

Of course then everybody had to shut down for COVID. This restaurant has stayed Take Out only, which I think is a mistake. Their dining area is spacious and nice - and rent in the Junction isn't cheap. It's a shame that they are not using their whole space effectively.

My wife and I have been wanting to try it for more than a year now that COVID restrictions have eased, but have been waiting for them to open their dining room. We couldn't wait any longer, so today we got a late lunch. A few rolls from the menu (dragon, dynamite, and crunch roll) and a special request - a spicy scallop hand roll.

We waited a few minutes. The lady and the chef were friendly. We took the items to our home nearby.

First the good - the presentation was very nice. All 4 items looked pretty good.

And the not so good - it was much more expensive than expected, totaling $67 before tip, for the 4 items. The Dragon roll (shown on Google in an old menu) is not $23, not $16 - prices are up over 40%.

And the bad - I think a lot of the seafood was just too old. Flavors ranged from 'tasteless' to 'something is wrong with this'. We didn't finish any of the items. For the first time in my life I threw away sushi. It was not edible.

My theory is that the take-out only format is not allowing enough business to use the fish in time, which is disappointing because the people seem friendly and the space is nice. My wife has put this on her 'never again' list. At almost $80 for 4 items, I think there are plenty of...

Struggled with this review. The food is not bad, but is not authentic. This is a nice chinese (?) family making japanese food for americans. The miso was fine but is hard to mess that up as even restaurants in Japan will often use freeze dried ready mix. The salad was dressed with a pink ranch dressing rather than the traditional ginger. I ordered nabeyaki udon which had imitation crab and cuts of chicken breast which is unusual. My wife ordered chicken katsu which had cuts of white and dark meat and a katsu sauce the was pretty much water. At 10-15 dollars per entree this was a fairly disappointing meal. The staff was friendly hence the 2 stars. If you are indifferent about your japanese food and are just interested in sushi this maybe the placed for you since almost all the 5 stars revolve around the sushi/sashimi which I did not try. If you are looking for an authentic experience/food then you might want to...

There was nothing wrong with the food, but afterwards the waitress tried to use my debit card to pay for another patron's much larger meal. When she realized her mistake she refunded it, but the refund takes several days to process, meanwhile my bank account is overdrafted. (Turning my $13 bill into a huge overdraft fee). After a mistake like this, I should think they could offer to comp my meal, but I didn't even get so much as an apology. Since my account was now locked, I wasn't able to pay for it myself and my friend had to cover me. Then, just to make it even more humiliating, I overhear her telling the table next to us my card was declined, like it was somehow my fault. It's a shame because the sushi was good, but that's just unbelievably horrible service. Azumi Sushi: service so bad, I should have called the police. I had a much better experience at the sushi place...
