Never again- Never going back! They have burgers that they didn't know what ingredients were in. Plant-based or not. I asked all three employees and one of them said it was made of peas. I looked on the website and they kept pointing me to the piece of paper that had no information on the ingredients of the vegetarian burger. I told them as long as it wasn't soy because I have a blood clotting disorder from estrogen foods such as soy.
This food USED TO BE flavorful and keep my family full. Now it all tastes like sand salt and oil and is garbage food. Thin as heck, hard, old dried out and processed. They weren't always cheap crap ingredients when they first came to Seattle in Ravenna and Amazon campus. WHAT HAPPENED? QUALITY IS TRASH.
Every time I go back here the food is worse. I wasn't the only one thinking this, my friends have had the same experience the last few years. First they stopped carrying Field Roast which was hearty chewy awesome and full of oats and mushrooms and whole grains. They used to have Tillamook cheese. Now it's Sysco.
We were lied to that the burger was made of peas and instead was chock full of crap low quality chemicals ingredients. We're talking soy, synthetic colorants such as fd&c blue #1 which causes cystic acne and birth defects , and fd&c yellow #4 linked to lowering sperm count and infertility.
The fries are hard discolored old overcooked and oily. What happened to the real butter flaky fresh fries?
Both the burger buns were squashed thin and hard burnt a little. The cheese was still hard and cold not melted at all. The vegetarian burger was cold and our order was made in about 2 minutes. All three guys I think are new but also burnt out from the job. I can imagine how hard they work all day well the front counter guy was. The cook and other guy were standing around.
Great State owners should fix this or go to hell with their business. I hope they go visit their own sites and understand how bad the quality is and customer service is now. What a waste of time. My family was a huge fan the first 2 years they came to Seattle. We will never return.
The prices at Great State have gone up and the quality has gone down. We're going to Dicks in the future! The only place in town where quality is still trusted ingredients and the prices are still fair. Over $40 for a soda 2 fries and 2 thin baby size burgers given to us dry and cold. How is that even possible?
Years ago I use I love this great state it's my favorite I've been going there for years since they opened they do really fun events for families and movie nights. Veggie burger is my favorite because it's full of veggies that are very...
Read moreI visited the location at Laurelhurst near Seattle Childrens. Typically the food is excellent. Almost always my order comes out exactly as ordered online. Today, not so much. The customer service, presentation and the ability to read the order was highly lacking by the guy who looked like he walked out of Harry Potter. “Hagrid” needs to go back to school with the kids at Hogwarts. His magical abilities are either rusty or his wand is no longer working. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy. They looked like they were cooked by Dobby. Half limp and half cooked. So I grabbed my kidlings, walked back inside and said my fries aren’t well done. He says, “they aren’t?!”. I showed him the limpy pasty and sad looking fries. He looked at me as if I stole his quaffle sneakily in Quidditch. No apology, or anything. Like I was a bother asking for my correct order. When I did get my fries…they were still not extra crispy and they were what normal fries were supposed to be like. I took my inadequate fries and l left in fear he may cast a spell upon my fries. Meanwhile my families burgers were cooling and waiting.
There were no other people other than one straggler here and there. I’m So glad I did not tip prior or after..it’s appalling you even ask..is this why my order was not correct? Who knows why “hagrid” was bla about doing his job. And why even ask for tips when all you are, are cooking a burger and fries where we as customers are cleaning up and walking in.
I’ll think twice about going in again if I see his hagrid face at the grill again. That guy should not be working in a restaurant or with people near a children’s hospital. Some of the families that come in, their kids are very specific with their food which is why the “extra crispy” is ordered by my family.
Enjoy my photo of our limpy, pasty krinkle...
Read moreGreat State Burger food here is pretty much on par with the food at other Great State locations, but customer experience is the exact opposite of great. After three visits in the past three months, here's my review of the Downtown location:
Operating hours aren't posted (or they're posted in a place where I can't see them). But the order window is usually wide open after closing time, so streams of people walk up to the order window and get told "we're closed." I think they close at 6pm and this has happened to me when it's not 6pm yet.
Unclear what name will be called when your order is taken, because the clerk doesn't ask for one then yells your order with whatever name is on the card you paid with. If you use a corporate card or card with someone else's name on it, and dozens of people are also waiting for orders, this is confusing and will keep you from knowing when your order is actually up.
I grabbed a burger with co-workers a couple weeks after the plastic straw ban went into effect. No "hello" or greeting from the person at the counter (I think she's maybe a manager or owner?), she just launches into a tirade (while in the middle of washing dishes and also handling food) about how everyone, all week, has been asking her why there's no straws. I wasn't even ordering a beverage. At that point I really wished I wasn't even ordering the burger I came for. And why don't you guys have compostable straws already? Don't make this my problem!
Last time I was at Great State Burger, I spent about twenty minutes of a lunch break waiting for just a burger. I see my burger sitting on the counter for a while, getting neglected while the staff argued with each other in front of customers. By the time I got handed my burger, it was...
