Read moreI was on the search for a great place to find chocolate in Seattle, and based off of all the other great Yelp reviews, I came here.
It wasn't much of a hassle find the place, but actually getting into the store was a bit... Strange? Alice-in-Wonderland-eqsue, I guess? You have to ring a bell in order to get in. Aaron -- the owner -- greeted me at the door. It was just him in the store. And when I say store, it's mostly just a giant space, with 75% of it being an industrial kitchen, which was pretty cool to see.
I wasn't sure what I was looking for, so I straight up told him that I wanted to spend $20 on chocolate and he immediately offered for me to sample all of the different chocolate truffles they were currently making. I was absolutely amazed by that. So cool. They make some really "crazy" flavors, but they all tasted great. Granted chocolate is always good, but such flavors as basel and pineapple were way better than I would've imaged.
Prices are a bit moderate, but it's all artisan chocolate, and most definitely worth it. I asked, and they do allow for hosting private parties, so I definitely want to look into that in the future, especially since they work closely with wineries. Wine and chocolate...
Read moreVery disappointing that the truffles have been eliminated. These were Intrigue's finest product, by far. They melted in your mouth like a pat of butter. The broken slab chocolates I sampled today (5 or 6 flavors) were all dry, crumbly, and unimpressive. Furthermore, I was told yesterday by their coffeehouse location on 15th that they'd be making the truffles by special order one last time for the holidays and to keep an eye on the website, but the Pioneer Square location today said that was incorrect after checking directly with the owner. :-/. Mo more truffles at all, ever. Also I was told by the coffeehouse location the stamp cards would be accepted thru the end of November and the Pioneer location said until year end, so it seems there is different information either being provided or understood by these 2 locations, which is confusing for customers. In my opinion, Intrigue needs to find a way to produce the truffles in the spaces they have remaining or acquire another. I personally won't have much drive to...
