Beautiful gallery with thoughtfully curated collection. Had a chance to take peak at Dali’s ethnography, antique plate collections from 1960’s and American Surrealists’ pieces ... for free (wow 🥹). Must visit gallery in Occidental Square!

Fred is by far one of the most knowledgeable and passionate gallerist in the Seattle area. I'm very pleased to be one of his Artists and to work alongside him.

Frederick Holmes and Company is absolutely wonderful! With events featuring dynamic artists and artwork that is accessible to collectors of all varieties - the experience is hard to beat.

I began my collection with Fred's help and have not looked back. Four years later and I love my piece even more; a fact confirming how skillful Fred is at introducing art lovers and collectors to pieces they'll treasure. Perhaps more importantly - as a first time collector - I did not feel pressured. I didn't even have second thoughts. Fred answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. Thanks to him, I have an art collection now!

As for the events, I have had the honor of seeing several shows at Frederick Holmes and Company that blew my socks off! There's no other way to put it... From a once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the most well-preserved Belle Epoque/Lautrec posters I've seen outside of museums to concerts with playable glass instruments, showings at the gallery never disappoint.

Sign up for their email list to receive exclusive info about the events - otherwise it can sometimes be a closed event. Sometimes (frequently?) the events fall on the First Thursdays, but are not open to the public.

Check out the gallery, and have a chat with Fred and company! Be sure to explore upstairs if...

While we live in the Boston area, we visit Seattle at least once annually. Simply put: Each trip is never complete without a stop at the Frederick Holmes Gallery. Our first visit to the Gallery was, serendipitously, to view work that Fred was showing by a sculptor who is an acquaintance of ours. However, we have returned not just because of the breadth and depth of the Gallery’s catalogues of renown and emerging artists but also because of our absolute respect for Fred’s deep knowledge of the contemporary art world. We always leave having learned something of consequence. Over the past five years, we have purchased two works from the Gallery – based solely on viewing the works on the Gallery’s website; and we have done so with complete confidence and trust given the Gallery’s distinction and Fred’s integrity. (Shipping, by the way, was prompt and flawlessly professional.) We are grateful for knowing Fred and for the various ways he and the Gallery’s artwork have...

I love stopping by Frederick Holmes & Company when I’m in the neighborhood. Fred is incredibly helpful and I always walk away feeling like I’ve learned a great deal and with a deep appreciation for a new-to-me artist.

About eight years ago, when my partner and I were quite young and relatively new to Seattle, we went to an evening event Fred put on. It was for folks like us who wanted to get a better understanding of what it meant to build a meaningful personal collection over a lifetime. I’ve been very fond of the gallery ever since.

When we moved a couple years ago, my mother found our housewarming gift at Frederick Holmes & Company. I had learned about Jane Burton’s work through Fred several years before and was delighted to choose one of her paintings to hang in our home. It brings me so much joy and I hope that we will add more pieces from the gallery...
