So disappointed! I loved this place when I was here for a summer back in 2022. My boyfriend and I flew into town on Christmas day (yesterday) because my best friend flew down from Alaska for surgery on the day after Christmas (today). I couldn't wait to bring them to 13 Coins for a great steak and those garlic mashed potatoes! I wasn't sure about our timeframe, so I didn't make a reservation, but I called and they said no worries, they're taking walk ins. Cool. Arrived at around 6:30pm on Christmas and the restaurant was half empty but we were told there was an hour wait because the kitchen was backed up. We were totally fine waiting due to holiday, no RSVP and kitchen issues. Okay, can we just be seated and get drinks going so we can visit and catch up until the kitchen is caught up? No. Can we sit in those chairs right by the host stand that face the cook line while we're waiting? No. Ok cool, can we wait in the bar? Yes. So we went to the bar and ordered drinks. After about 45 minutes the bartender said he could take our food orders, we didn't have to wait for a table- if we didn't mind eating at the bar. (thought the wait was because the kitchen was behind, not lack of tables- but whatever!) So, we order the NY strip, med, with garlic mashed potatoes, 2 ribeyes- one med and one medium rare- also with garlic mashed potatoes, and two salads. It took awhile still but salads finally came and were delicious. Then about 30 minutes later our entrees came out. The NY strip that was ordered medium, came out rare- VERY rare. And with a side of noodles instead of garlic mashed. MY ribeye was ordered medium and was a tad under, which was still ok, except that it was cold and with a side of some potato pancake things- not garlic mashed- also cold. The other ribeye -ordered medium rare- came out medium to medium well (no pink) and also had the cold potato pancake things instead of garlic mashed. We ended up asking for the NY strip to be re-cooked because it was just way too rare for any of us. We made due with the ribeyes- one cold and one overcooked. Asked about the lack of mashed potatoes and were told they ran out hours ago. Don't know why we weren't told that when we ordered??? Anyway, they re-cooked the NY strip and it came out medium rare to almost rare again instead of medium. Whatever. We didn't want to send it back again and wait again. Oh! And it came out with garlic mashed potatoes!!! Thought they ran out hours ago?? We ended up taking most of our meals to go thinking we could heat them up in the microwave back at the hotel and that might make them not only hot, but the right cook temp as well. Alas!!! No microwave in our hotel room!! 🥺 And although the atmosphere was very nice, the floors and restrooms were filthy.

Long story short- total chaos all around. Long wait, poor customer service, food cooked wrong twice, cold food, it's a mystery if they were actually out of mashed potatoes or if it was just a mistake somewhere along the line, dirty surroundings, and all that cost about $200- including 2 crown royals and a Malibu. At least the bartender was funny (Renee??) and the host said Merry Christmas when we left!! 🎄🎄🎄 So disappointed! This was a favorite spot when I was here...

Stopped in for dinner last Friday 7/12 and literally had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. For context, there wasn't even a game/concert/event happening at the stadiums.

Here's what went wrong: Was told it would be a 30-45 minute wait for a table. Ended up being 75 minutes. When it was finally time to get sat, the host walked us to the middle of the bar, mumbled something, vaguely pointed and then walked away. We had to go back to the front because it was not evident which table we were supposed to sit at. Of course the table wasn't set with anything and they didn't even give us menus until we asked. Waited about 15 more minutes for our waitress, who upon arrival doesn't event greet us, just says "what do you want?" To her credit, it appeared she was likely the only person waiting tables for the whole restaurant. Because we had been waiting so long, we put in our order for our food as well as drinks at the same time. When our drinks arrived with melted ice, the person delivering them couldn't remember which one was whiskey and which was rum. So he literally SMELLS both of them and passes them out. I prefer to be the only person who breaths on my drinks. Despite putting our food order in as soon as we could, it took 30 minutes for soups to come out and 60+ minutes for our meals to arrive. The waitress never checked on us during this time, and when she finally did appear, promised "only 5 more minutes". The food was especially disappointing. Three of the four of us ordered the "BREAST OF CHICKEN PARMIGIANA “THE BELIEVER” which based on the menu, appeared to be one of their "speciality" items. It looked like it came from a microwave meal. The pasta was cold and the cheese looked like it was a Kraft Single. Definitely not worth the wait, or $25 per plate they are charging. Due to our awful experience, two different managers did come over to apologize and offer to cover the cost of our "meals". However, the second manager also wanted us to order another round of drinks to "end the night on a good note"....we obviously refused because they had already ruined our evening and we really just wanted to leave.

In the end were even more disappointed (mostly in ourselves) that we still owed $80 for our soups and drinks. We should had walked out much earlier in the evening.

There are lots of other amazing restaurants in Seattle so be sure to check out those instead! We wasted our whole Friday night waiting around for crappy food and even worse service....

We stayed at this hotel Embassy Suites at Pioneer Square at the end of March 28th the Friday of when Supercross was in town. We had reservations, seated immediately with complementary veggies/ meat/ bread. My mom and her friend who been here before asked we didn’t order these? We didn’t get this before? Our fantastic top notch server Alan replied, we don’t, they’re on me. He was so personal, knew the menu so well and made ordering food as if we were friends. He was so good at checking in the table, getting to know us, making jokes. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken parm, but had bites of the chicken Alfredo, spaghetti with meat sauce and the shrimp scampi ALL of it was delicious!! We weren’t planning on dessert but Alan talked us into it and his recommendations did not disappoint. Alan even at one point gave my daughter and a friend’s son a bunch of Pokemon cards! We learned about him and his family. Working in the customer service industry myself, I left WOW’d.

The service and food was so good when came back this past weekend travelling from Nanaimo British Columbia, staying at the same hotel, I knew I wanted to come back and start our weekend off right. I tried booking a reservation, unfortunately they don’t accept anything less than a group of 6, but they did say they could get us in. We didn’t see Alan when we came in, but were told to find our seat in the lounge by a host, we asked for a high chair, no help, when thought someone was coming they moved us to a booth, it wasn’t cleaned so we stood awkwardly for a few minutes, then sat for another 5-8 mins waiting for waters and be greeted, Finally Joe greeted use asking if anyone helped us yet and we said no and was prompt to serve! Took our orders as we knew exactly what we wanted after talking how good it was for over a month, we all Ordered the same thing!

At this point Alan seen us and was amazing and told us to let him know of anything we need he’s got us. Joe brought us our meals and was friendly throughout our stay but, he’s no Alan (sorry Joe!) I don’t know how Alan works so hard and is busy, but manages to make the experience another level. We truly left looking forward to our trips likely next year when back here just eat here and see Alan. You guys have an excellent employee here and he provides next level customer service, that I have never seen before. Out next time we are here I’m making sure we request him!

I attached a few pics...

We were staying at the Embassy Suite the same building as 13 Coins to celebrate my birthday. We had dinner at 13 Coins for the first time. We were greeted with one of the best servers I had encountered " Alan " I must say, Alan knew that menu with his eye's closed. I inform Alan I was a very picky eater so he made a suggestion that I should try the Garlic Parmesan Chicken or the steak bites? I then asked him, which one was better? That's when Alan told me that they both were really good and I can't go wrong with them. Depending on how I feel, maybe order both, so we did order both. When I tell you, that man was on point because both were beyond expectation. He also gave my husband's a recommendation and my husband enjoyed his meal. So the next night, me and my husband were suppose to go to STK House but choose to go back downtown to 13 Coins. We requested Alan be or waiter so we sat at the bar which we usually don't do. I must say, both nights he was a very busy man, helping his customers and working great with his coworkers. His personality was absolutely what you in customer service. I had order a meal that I wasn't so fond of and Alan made sure to do what he could, to correct the issue. He spoke with his manager and we got to me her and addressed my concerns with the meal didn't tasted like what I was expecting, so she informed Alan to also make sure they can help me with replacing it with something different. I then order the Chicken Alfredo, which was really good. As my husband and I was enjoying or food, we also enjoyed the company of or waiter. We stayed until closing, eating and converting with Alan. I must say he made our dinner at 13 Coins well worth it. The 5 starts go to him and the food. One thing I will say is, I was disturbing with the fact we didn't order them steak bites to go because they were defeated the best steak bites I had in a while. Thank Alan for blessing us with a enjoyable moment our two nights of eating at 13 Coins.

DON'T GO FOR GAME DAY! We showed up 2 hours before the game yet missed kicked off and we didn't even get our food! It was all so frustrating and just a massive let down. 10 minutes: The amount of time we wait in line outside the restaurant to put our name on the waitlist. 25 minutes: the amount of time the hosts said we would have to wait for a table. 55 minutes: The amount of time we ACTUALLY waited until we asked the hosts what was going on. (They said we cancelled our place in line but we absolutely did not. I showed them my phone where I didn't cancel. They couldn't explain it.) 65 minutes: The amount of time it took be seated at a high traffic community table in their basement. 1 hr 15 min: We gave the server our drink and food order 1 hour 25 minutes: Drinks came (1 coffee, 1 mimosa) 1 hr 45 min: Server asked if we wanted refills, the restaurant clears out to nearly empty as everyone heads to the game. 1 hr 50 min: Refills come, we finally get water for the first time. We ask for the bill so when our food comes we can leave and eat. TWO HOURS: Foods isn't ready. We ask if we can just pay for what we had and leave. 1 coffee and two mimosas was $50!! We tipped well (we're not jerks, used to be servers ourselves and it wasn't her fault) and ran out of the restaurant. Who knows if our food ever come. We missed the first 10 minutes of the game but it could have been the whole first quarter. I wish we had cut out losses sooner..... Moral of the long story? Don't go here on game day!!!!! (or at least know that the wait will be triple what they tell you)
