As soon as we stepped into King Street, I had one thought: we should’ve turned right back around. The place was sweltering, packed with fans fresh from the Hawks game, and the atmosphere felt more chaotic than lively. I’d been here years ago and remembered it being decent, so we decided to stick it out. Big mistake. The moment our food hit the table, I was transported straight back to my grade school cafeteria, where the chicken tenders were lukewarm and the potato salad was a mystery best left unsolved. This potato salad could’ve easily come from one of those industrial silver tubs wheeled out by a hairnet-clad lunch lady. Paying $16 for this sad excuse of a meal was both disappointing and absurd. Now let’s talk about the burger that arrived alongside the melancholy tenders. It was flavorless, dry, and somehow managed to skip basic condiments, no ketchup, maybe a whisper of mayo if you squinted. The presentation? Nonexistent. The chips were still in the bag. At the very least, pour them onto the plate next to the burger to make it look like someone cared. If I owned this bar/restaurant, I’d seriously reconsider the entire food menu. To top it off, the table next to us left behind half a pizza and my friend and I genuinely considered grabbing it and making a run for it. That should tell you everything you need to know. I’m honestly still laughing over the presentation of the meals.

Look, this isn't a 5* bar experience, this is your neighborhood bar experience "where everyone knows your name", it's clean, it's properly lit, it's priced appropriately and the food is quality. Is it extraordinary? No. Is it utter un-eatable? No! The drinks were strong, the service swift... All in all its exactly what I'd expected from a basic sports bar (not putting down basic sports bars! You're needed in society or else why would I be here!!) those 1* rates had different expectations of what they were getting, definitely recommended for those who want a quick drink and bite with friendly service and absolutely will be back next time I'm in Seattle! (meatloaf sliders pictured come in 3s...i had to eat one before writing. They're very good, basic and very good)

Right near the King Street Station is this quiet dive bar that can easily be mistaken for Cheers (if your old enough to remember the show.) The place is generally filled with regulars that make their stop here to grab a few drink ls & a bite before they head out to the game. The calzones are really what they are famous for with whole garlic cloves in these badboys to make Dracula crumble into a fetal position, but if you love garlic like I do, you will love & appreciate it. Google maps has a hard time finding this place & will lead you into the alley, so look for the sign. Midas 5-stars for the friendly service & a solid beer & a shot.

My husband has really fond memories of this place from a decade ago, so when a friend came into town late on a Thursday night train, we suggested King Street because it was near the station.

Unfortunately, we had a pretty sub par experience. We arrived around 7:45, ordered drinks and food from the server who seemed pretty irritated, but when our friend got there, he needed to go check into his hotel before their front desk closed. I drove him over and back - we were probably 15 minutes altogether including parking, but when we returned, we were told the kitchen was closed, and it was pretty clear that the staff were trying to close earlier than the stated hours. Which is fine, but it would have been nice to have a heads-up as we were heading out - we were one of only two groups in there, so it was pretty clear what was happening when he got there and I left my full drink on the table to manage the hotel situation.

Anyway, we were bummed because my husband really wanted to share some of his old favorite foods with our friend, but we picked it up and headed over to 13 Coins as the server recommended. They did have decently clear communication eventually that they were trying to close up but it was definitely off putting to not know why we were getting the cold shoulder and have the kitchen close unexpectedly in the short time we were gone.

I'll definitely recommend someplace else next time for...

I have been going to this bar after work for almost two years with my coworker for after hours and we went in this past Tuesday 4/9/24 for the taco Tuesday and had the worst experience!! The bartender was rude, overcharged everyone at the table and charged for drinks we didn’t even get then ripped up the receipt and refused to fix it and we ended up getting ripped off and he refused to give discount for the tacos. If the owner wants to reach out that would be great as my experience was not good and we got ripped off. Bartenders like that ruin business so good luck but I recommend if you don’t wanna get ripped off by the rude bartender go somewhere else where they treat you with respect and have customer service. None of us were rude either he said he was left alone on his second day on the job and didn’t know how to use the computer system and even with our compassion and understand he still was very rude and dismissive and ripped up the receipt in my girlfriends face and threw it away. Who charges $15.75 for a well drink during happy hour that I normally pay $6 for and says too bad I don’t know what I’m doing so your gonna pay!! Wow!! False...
