We've been searching for a new teriyaki place for a year after our favorite place (Teriyaki 1st in U District) appeared to have closed down. We've tried six or seven places now looking for good teriyaki and katsu, and we think Othello Wok and Teriyaki is the closest we've found yet. Their standard chicken teriyaki has that chargrilled flavor lacking in a lot of places and it isn't overly sauced. The katsu has the necessary crunch and browning, and the katsu sauce is better than what you can get from the store. Gyoza were crunchy and tasty, the salad is what we want from a teriyaki place. Spicy chicken has sauteed onions and peppers and a very delicious spicy sauce that reminded me of Korean buldak. Orange chicken was good. The chicken has all been very juicy and the seasoning on everything has been very good. All in all, it's the first legit Seattle teriyaki place we've found in a long time! The first one we've actually returned to for their teriyaki and katsu and all around true Seattle teriyaki experience. It isn't the best we've ever had, but it is very good, tasty and reliable, and it's the best we've found so far. Thanks Othello Wok...
Read moreI have to say the food is pretty good here you won’t be dissatisfied! Although they charge for extra sauce when they didn’t used to claim that people abused it so now they charge for extra sauce. How cheap do you have to be to charge for sauce?
The service is not too bad although when I was in one afternoon, a lady came in complaining about her order and the owner. I started arguing with her, making the situation, awkward and uncomfortable for me and I’m sure others as well. But I can only speak for myself actually that’s why I’m doing the review.
I can’t understand how business owners won’t treat their customers like family just be polite. Be nice and take care of your customers. It was unneeded and unnecessary to argue and create a stressful environment, for everyone. It just bothered me the when it all could’ve been Handled with kindness and understanding for the customers who keep that business running and pay...
Read moreI've gone here at least 8-10 times and keep coming back. I normally call ahead and get carry out but for the record they've had my food ready within 15 minutes of calling. The staff is always very fast and friendly with each order.
If you dine in, the atmosphere is not really anything worth mentioning but they do keep the dining area clean every time I've visited.
The real reason I keep going back is the food. This is easily, as another reviewer stated, one of the best terryaki establishments in the Rainier Valley. Their terryaki selections, both spicy and non spicy, are excellent. The orange chicken and honey sesame chicken are very good picks as well. I tried the "Szechwan" beef and Kung Pao chicken also but neither of those were really my thing but might be decent picks for others.
Overall I'm a very happy returning customer and look forward to getting more food from them a...
