Update 1: As an experiment I’m adding updates to confirm consistency. Upon my second visit I ordered the same drinks (chaga-ccino & vanilla lattes both with soy milk) and this time I also ordered a straight double shoot. No order tells the truth of a coffee shop quality than their pure and naked double shot (in my coffee nerdy opinion). The results…DELICIOUS! For full transparency I took 3 sips and then added my a splash of simple syrup (available as a free add on by the straws) as that added sweetness hits my espresso bliss point for this mode rare places that make their espresso Goldilocks style (just right 😄). A crucial detail I caught this visit was that both Baristas were measuring the amount of espresso being used and the amount of added syrup. My guess is they measure more than that when “calibrating” the espresso machine. I asked about this practice and the kind barista pointed out the obvious (“you ever been to a place where one day the espresso is good and the next time it’s different?”) My response: “Almost always.” So as to end this review before it become a mini novella, I also did receive another rewards discount! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I hope to confirm another return with a similar tasty experience.

That’s place is a new favorite! We ordered a vanilla ice latte with soy milk and a chaga- ccino. Both well done and delicious.
We also order the vegan breakfast sandwich with a hashbrown (a Michelin star version of the McDonald sandwich), tasty and rich (we split it).
Then the kind barista (a pretentious-free one) offered me a taste of their Oatnilla drink which is a mad scientist concoction of cold brew, oat milk, and flavors (they had a reg version, pistachio one, and a cinnamon one (one might have had hazelnut syrup). BEWARE! This drink is stupid delicious! As you can see we splurged and got a jug. We’ve never had a drink quiet like one and not sure when the next time we will be nearby, so it would have been foolish not to buy one.
It’s gets better though! I signed up for rewards after I got food and coffee. It wasn’t until then I tried the cocaine-nilla drink, got hooked instantly, and purchased it getting money off from the rewards program (a proud member for about 3Mins at that point in time 😂).
Finally the place looks small inside yet has a lots of space outside to sit. It will be a gift and honor to return to this place and I will update to see if the quality of their coffee drinks and food...
Read moreIf I could give Cafe Red a 10/5 it still wouldn’t be enough. Bear with me because this is my favorite coffee shop of all time and I’m ready to rant and rave about how amazing it is.
To start- the coffee itself is phenomenal. I am a big coffee drinker, and this is the best in the city in my opinion. I actually moved away, and I will still drive 40 minutes to come get their cold brew. The canella oatnilla is delicious! You will be introduced to a whole new world of coffee once you try their drinks. It’s a vegan cafe, so if you’re not willing to do dairy free alternatives it might be hard. But I absolutely love their drinks and have never noticed any difference in quality. I haven’t got a ton of their food, but their tater tots are delicious!
Next, the service. The service at this coffee shop is top tier. All staff are so kind and they have a very “chill Seattle” sort of vibe. I have always loved this coffee shop dearly, but the reason I felt compelled to write this review is because of the service I’ve experienced the last two times I was in. Last year, Cafe Red had a seasonal drink that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the fall seasonal menu this year. When I mentioned that to the barista, she told me she would make it for me and I could always ask and they would do it for me. I jumped for joy and was so so excited. It’s things like that that take the service at Cafe Red to the next level. I apologize that I have not caught that barista’s name, but thank you thank you thank you!
Overall: if you’re thinking of going to another coffee shop, don’t. Cafe Red has everything you could ever want— impeccable service, delicious coffee, and a great atmosphere. Once you’ve been, you’ll know exactly why I rant and rave to google reviews and everyone in my life about how amazing this coffee shop is. Cafe Red staff, you have a forever...
Read morei’ve been going here semi consistently since i moved in down the street about two years ago with my sister, i’m not super talkative and tend to order for pickup, but i’m always greeted with smiles and eye contact. i’m a barista myself, and it’s nice being on the other side of the bar as a regular and being recognized and taken care of as if it were my own store.
it’s always very clean and although a little small on the inside, they maneuver busy rushes very throughly and well, and even on one instance where my drink was made wrong (it happens!! no biggie) they were more then willing to fix it up and get me out in a timely manner. i tend to last minute pick stuff up for food on my way to work and after two years have still never been late no matter how many people are in line.
i highly recommend their lavender lattes, i prefer mine iced but have had tried it hot and it’s still just as good. not a lot of places offer lavender for flavor and whatever brand they use really hits the spot! as well as the little lavender flowers they garnish the top with, i enjoy chewing on them to make my commute a little more tolerable lol. for food i recommend the avocado toast. everytime i’ve ordered the avocados have been perfectly ripe, it’s been seasoned well, and it keeps me nice and full for 10 bucks.
overall this is one of the best little coffee spots i’ve been too, the staff are amazing, the shorter blonde lady with a black mask has been the main face i’ve seen- i have not caught her name but she is so sweet! the food and drinks are well worth the price if you ever find yourself in...
