I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The service is absolutely horrible — the staff doesn't seem to care about anything unless you're a regular or one of their friends. If you're not, expect a cold, uninterested reception, and don’t count on any friendly interactions. It's clear that they prioritize certain customers over others, which is incredibly frustrating.
The cleanliness of the restaurant is another major issue. The dining area is always dirty, and it looks like no one bothers to clean properly. The bathrooms are a nightmare — always disgusting and in need of a serious deep clean. It’s just unacceptable, especially for a place that charges the prices they do.
Speaking of prices, the food is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. The portions are small, the quality is underwhelming, and you're left wondering what you paid for. It feels like they’re charging premium prices for the bare minimum.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Poor service, filthy environment, and overpriced food make for a very disappointing dining experience. There are plenty of better...
Read moreYou wanna talk about serendipitous then let's include talk of the Serendipity Cafe. Because it was there where l met Jane Paully. I suggested that her and go take a walk around Green Lake and talk about world events. We lost counts of the number of laps we did around the pond, but we both believed we somewhere between nine and sixteen. And that in of itself was interesting because she said nine was a significant number to her and the numbers sixteen has meant a lot to me for many many years. Jane isn't just a good interviewer because she seems know the right questions, but a great interviewer because she's a great listener as well. I will never forget losing a precious mouthful of Starbucks when she gave me the hilarious compliment "Dan, you're so much more interesting to talk to than Sarah Palin" I think the only think that could make that memory any funnier would be if I had spewed that black brew on her. But that didn't happen. Enough about about me and Jane's time together at Green Lake (psst it was from noon to 6 a.m.) and let me just finish by saying go to Serendipity Cafe and discovery a magical day of your own with...
Read moreThis place may be good—but only if you’re White.
We are Asian and have lived right across the street for over three years. This used to be one of our go-to spots for brunch, often because we were short on time and had no other choice. But over the years, the service we received was consistently disappointing—not just once, but repeatedly.
Time and time again, we would sit at our table while staff ignored us. White customers who arrived after us were always served first. Even something as simple as asking for a cup of water or an extra fork took forever. It wasn’t occasional—it was a pattern. We gave them the benefit of the doubt many times, but the reality stayed the same: we were clearly not treated equally.
Today, as we prepare to move away, we visited this place one last time—and once again, we experienced the same treatment. That confirmed it wasn’t in our heads. We felt ignored, disrespected, and ultimately, discriminated against.
This might be a convenient, tasty brunch spot—but only if you’re White. If you’re not, prepare to be invisible.
Good riddance to this place and its...
