The Real Deal!
I went here traveling back to my hotel while on a business trip in the Santa Rosa area, I had already been a bit disappointed with a place I tried in downtown, which I had gone to based on reviews. What a blessing it was to come upon Falafel King, where I was greeted by a friendly employee at the counter.
I ordered the Gyro Combo Plate and Fatoush Salad. They make a homemade Baklava which I got at the recommendation of the employee while there, and while I was picking up an order to take home, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful artwork and paintings on the wall. Simply put the food is delicious, everything tastes fresh and is full of flavor. Read moreThis is one of the best places to eat in Sebastopol period. You can argue there's better places around town, in the Barlow, at Michelin rated locales nearby, but hands down, this restaurant deserves a stop, especially if you're interested in spending 1/4 of what you'd spend anywhere else. Family run, unpretentious, and as flavorful as anything you'll find in the county. As a local, it's a bite at King Falafel and an ice cream at Screaming Mimi's that makes for the perfect culinary experience. It's one of those places you can eat at every day and not have a complaint. So glad they're here...

(You wouldn't expect the Mediterranean restaurant to be one of the best burger joints in town, but they make the beef patties in-house with onions and spices and it's 😙👌.) Compared to the other Mediterranean restaurant within a 2-block radius, East West Cafe, the atmosphere is definitely not as nice (I'd say more diner-esque than anything else?), but the prices are cheaper and, AFAICT, where the menus overlap, the food is just as good...
