This place! Where to start? It's that hole in the wall, family owned gem that anyone wishes to come across with. After living in Mexico for a while, I can testify that this place is truly authentic. I was visiting Sebring for a lacrosse tournament, and the hotel staff recommended the place for breakfast because it was already closed for dinner on that day. I struggled about going for breakfast because I never eat breakfast. However, I decided to give it a try and to my surprise, I could order anything on the menu even at 1030am, so since I love, love ceviche, I decided to order a tostada de ceviche. Wow! I don't recall having tostadas de ceviche like this outside of Mexico. It was the best, so fresh and the best part? The price! I also had a cafe con leche, which was pretty good. My son loaded up on protein with an omelet and potatoes/ hash browns, which were delicious too, and he also ate some of my ceviche and the chorizo and scrambled egg taco š After trying these, I asked if they had lengua (cow tongue) and when they said yes, it was done! I knew we had to go back after our games. We stopped by after the games, and my son "wasn't hungry," so I ordered another tostada ceviche and a cow tongue taco. Well, we ended with 2 tostadas de ceviches, 2 tongue tacos, and a whole plate of tongue meat chimichanga, rice, and refried beans. I believe it was less than $30, which is a steal compared to where we live. I can't miss to mention that the owner and the server were very, very nice and attentive. Thank goodness this place is 2 hrs away from home. Otherwise, I would look like a cow LOL... Wear something light because it was a little warm inside, although it was like 106...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCalled to make a pickup orderā¦we ordered 8 chicken tacos and 1 steak. When I arrived the total was $27. Taco Tuesday is $2 tacos, so I was confused. The rude girl that was working said taco Tuesday is only for the small tacos and you ordered the big ones. Before I can say that I didnāt, the boy in the back came out and said āthe girl on the phone asked for the big onesā .. I was right next to her and she didnāt. I left it and took the tacos as is. Got home, we had 10 TACOS INSTEAD. They charged us extra on every taco AND added/charged and extra one we didnāt order. The food was completely disgusting. Meat tasted frozen from a bag, the texture and taste gave it away. The salsa verde was flavorless and no spice at all, tasted from a can. Onion and cilantro had NO flavor whatsoever , itās like it had nothing on it! We didnāt like it, neither did my kids (who eat everything). Iāll be sticking to Azul Tequila from now on, where you get bigger better tacos that are ACTUALLY $2 AS ADVERTISED. I wonder how many people ranchero does this to, and gets away with it to avoid another wait for tacos in the Florida...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame all the way from Indiana to visit a girlfriend before I have my first baby, and absolutely craving some Mexican food. Throughout my entire pregnancy so far Iāve been to every single Mexican restaurant in the tri state area (no joke) and decided to stop by this absolute gold little hole in the wall. The outside versus the service and quality of food is exactly why they say donāt judge a book by its cover. Three absolutely grown women sloppily hogging and chowing down on the most delicious Mexican meals Iāve ever had and absolutely no regrets on leaving a $20 tip. The lady behind the counter was working her caboose off and she was a delight to talk to. Would fly all the way to Florida, would hike through hurricanes just to eat there again. AND GET THE GUACAMOLE!! Would rate 20 stars....
