I was intrigued by the faint sound of irish music while walking around the circle. I followed it to gavaghans irish pub and the second you walk in the doors you are transported to an authentic irish pub. The atmosphere, the decor, the service, the food, the live music and everything in-between has been amazing for my family and i when we visit. There isnt table service and there isnt a paper menu. You have to order from one of the bartenders and the food is brought out to the table. The bartenders are very knowledgeable about whats on tap, what is on the menu and actually enjoy having conversations with the patrons. Theres so many authentic irish offerings behind the bar and in the kitchen. The food is absolutely delicious. Ive eaten everything on the menu and come in weekly because they do run dinner specials and i dont wanna miss out. So far the pork chop with the Glendalough irish whiskey sauce is my favorite so far. Compliments to the Chef on not just the food but the quality of the food and the excellent in house sauces that he makes to go with the wings, on the salads or with the fish and chips. In regards to the fish and chips Ive overheard a plethora of conversations praising the fish and chips. i also praise the fish and chips and recommend it to the people i get the pleasure of chatting with at the pub. The fries are hand cut and made there daily. According to people they are up to par with the fish and chips they serve at pubs in Ireland. I often wonder what the secret ingredient is because people REALLY love the fish and chips. I must also add that anything that is fried on the menu is fried in beef tallow and not seed oil.
Monday and Wednesday they have live music. To be specific they have live irish music and it always draws a crowd so try to arrive early and get a good seat. The next few Sundays they are having a watch party for season 3 of HGTV's hometown takeover which was filmed in Sebring.
The decor and lignting makes you feel warm and cozy kinda like how you feel after enjoying a bowl of the Guinness beef and barley stew. Much of the art that adorns the pub walls has a back story and history. I got the opportunity of speaking with one of the owners brothers about some of the art and was just fascinated.
In addition to the pub they have The Pitch which is right next door and offers the same drink and food options as the pub. Its more of a sports bar offering a few big screen TVs that play sportsball. There is a beautiful pool table that made an appearance in the movie Tombstone. Lots of people stop by just to witness it in all its glory. They have 2 dart boards as well.
If you’re looking to indulge in dessert, drink unique hand crafted cocktails or have a romantic evening i recommend visiting Dara which is their new dessert bar that recently opened and honestly its my favorite room. Its like walking into a whimsical fairy garden.... and theres cake! It's only open on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are the preferred option and the entrance is on the side of the building. The drink menu and dessert menu are filled with delicious decadent options and i have yet to be disappointed and im always impressed with the presentation and plating. The strawberry matcha cheesecake is beautiful and matches the decor of the room. Its definitely more of a chill vibe compared to the other rooms.
Definitely stop by and check it out if you are visiting the area or a local. If you are a local you get the pleasure of watching this beautiful establishment...
Read moreGavigan’s is a traditional Irish pub with a unique approach to food and service. When you arrive, it’s first come, first served—no reservations are accepted. You find your own table, and the menu is displayed on a chalkboard. To order, you go up to the bar, where you can choose from the menu and also order drinks like pints of beer or wine. The food was excellent. I had the fish and chips, which were very good, and my wife loved the Guinness soup. My mother also enjoyed the shepherd’s pie. However, the ordering process might feel a bit unconventional for some. After placing your order at the bar, you’re given a number to take back to your table, and they’ll bring the food out to you when it’s ready. Drinks are also self-ordered at the bar, though they’ll assist you if needed. The atmosphere was lively, though it can get quite loud, especially with groups laughing and chatting inside. For those who prefer a quieter setting, there’s outdoor seating available on the veranda, which overlooks the circle—a lovely spot to enjoy your meal or a drink. I’ve heard they also have a bed-and-breakfast upstairs, but I didn’t stay there, so I can’t comment on it. Overall, the pub is a great addition to downtown, but the service could use some improvement. While most staff members were friendly and helpful, one woman at the bar seemed indifferent and didn’t offer recommendations or seem enthusiastic about her role. When you’re serving food and drinks, especially at a place like this, offering suggestions or at least a welcoming attitude can make a big difference. Despite that, I would definitely recommend Gavigan’s. The food and atmosphere make it worth a visit, and it’s exciting to see new places like this...
Read moreNestled underneath the Roanoke Hotel and brimming with potential, Gavaghan’s Irish Pub is a place you don’t want to miss while exploring Sebring.
The atmosphere is lively and the food and drinks are great, being traditional Irish foods and drinks you usually wouldn’t find around here. They have choices like Guinness Stew, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash, Wings flavored your way, Fish and Chips battered with their own beer, and more including changing dinner specials. They have draft beers like Guinness, St. Jon’s Irish Red, Killarney, and Pedaler’s Cider as well as beers and wines to choose from, and I’m sure they’ll have more choices as they further develop the drinks menu and order more liquors. They also have a full bar with many Irish Whiskeys to choose from as well as other spirits including liqueurs. I’m very excited to see how they further develop everything!
You go up to the bar to start a tab and order your food and drinks and receive a number to put at your table - you choose your seating. This isn’t a traditional American-style restaurant with servers so any employee can help you, bring you your food and drinks, and check on you, even the chef!
I’m very excited for the dessert room and bakery as well as the entertainment room to open, both spaces are large and nicely decorated and will be fun to hang out in. I’ve heard there will be steel-tip darts in the entertainment room as well as pool tables which sound like fun!
The Roanoke Hotel’s upstairs cocktail bar is also in the works and sounds very...
