Red Lobster — Restaurant in Sebring

TERRIBE SERVICE!!!!!

I try very hard to stay positive and only share positive content. So, I thought long and hard about posting this review. I decided to post it because poor customer service is never acceptable.

First, let me say I am not proud to have spent hundreds of dollars at this location over the past year. However, I only eat fish so this has been a kind of go to for me and my mom every other Sunday.

I drive 40 minutes to get to this location. Last week we ordered as per usual and when I got home, I realized half of the food I ordered was not in the bag. I called red lobster to inform them and advised I would like a refund as I was not driving back another 40 minutes.

After waiting for approximately 20 minutes on the phone the manager offered a $50 gift card that would be waiting for at the location the next time I'm in town.

Fast forward to today, my mom and I decided to use the gift card and order dinner. Now, mind you, our dinner came to double the gift card amount.

I walk into the establishment and stand there for 5 minutes before anyone comes up to address me. I inform the young lady that I have a to go and I need to get the gift card I was promised. She continues to fix drinks for someone and leaves and does not come back.

10 minutes later a male bar tender come up and sees a couple just walking up and sits at the bar. He immediately helps them and offers menus. Meanwhile I am still standing there being ignored.

I politely wait another 5 minutes before I ask him if he can get someone to help me. He asks if I had the to go order that's on the counter. I explain yes. But I also have a gift card in the safe that I need to use. He then, goes to the back and comes back 5 minutes later to tell me that the manager says it will be a few minutes because he is on the line cooking.

I am flabbergasted that my to go order has now been sitting for 25 minutes. I don’t want to use race as an issue; however, I don’t know how else to explain that two white patrons came in and were immediately serviced while I just stood there and watched. The bar tender had no idea anyone had said anything to me. At the very least he should have acknowledged me and let me know he would be right with me. However, nothing was said. People walking back and forth, and no one said anything. And my to go order is just sitting there on the counter.

I wait another 5 minutes and ask him if he could explain to the manager again that I have food getting cold that I would like to pay for and I need the gift card.

Another 10 minutes goes by and the manager in a blue shirt and blond hair that I have seen walking all around me brings the gift card and hands it me with no apologies or I am so sorry you had to wait so long. He just walks away.

No one apologizes for my 40 minute wait to get food that has been sitting on the counter getting cold.

I am unhappy that I was ignored while other people walking up was serviced. I am unhappy that there was no acknowledgment of poor service and no apologies.

I will not be going back to this location. As a customer I deserve...

As many people know, I do a lot of reviews for local businesses and restaurants here in Highlands County. I’ve never been a huge fan of chain restaurants, but since Sebring doesn’t have a wide variety to choose from, when I find one that truly stands out — I have to rave about it!

Red Lobster in Sebring is one of those hidden gems. It’s incredibly underrated. Every time we’ve gone, the staff has been professional, friendly, and attentive. Alex, the manager, always stops by our table to check in and make sure everything is perfect. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the restaurant is spotless, and the overall ambience makes for a really pleasant dining experience.

Now, let’s talk about the food. Of course, Red Lobster is known for its seafood, but I think a lot of people don’t realize just how good the rest of the menu is. Believe it or not, I rarely order seafood there! Their 6 oz. sirloin steak is absolutely delicious — honestly, I’d say it’s even better than Outback’s. The prices are very reasonable too.

Last night, I had the Chicken Alfredo, and it was outstanding — I’d put it up against Olive Garden any day. My friend ordered the fish, and not only was the portion generous, but he said it was fantastic. My daughter had her usual Chicken Parmesan — her go-to favorite — and she loved it, as always.

Oh let's not forget about the desserts! From cheesecake to chocolate cake not only are the portions huge they're absolutely delicious!

So, if you’ve been overlooking Red Lobster because you think it’s just seafood, think again! Their steaks, pastas, and salads are top-notch, and even the occasional seafood dish I try (like the crab or lobster) never disappoints.

One quick note — don’t be fooled if the parking lot in front looks empty. Most people park in the back, which makes it seem like they’re closed when they’re not.

If you’re in Sebring and want a great meal, give Red Lobster a try. You might be surprised at how good it really is!

My wife and I went in at 7:00pm on Friday January 26th. We opted to sit in the bar. Before we took our seats we heard very loud almost yelling from the kitchen area. It was obvious a manager was chewing out at least 2 employees because he threatened to write them both up. The bartender/waitress was very busy. Ordering to a while. When my order came out is was incorrect and the scallops I had were really well done almost burnt. We drank from plastic cups because she had no glasses. We overheard our waitress several times asking for glassware. When we finished eating and paid our check I asked the young lady if she was one of the employees who was getting yelled at. She said yes. As I left the restaurant the manager on duty was at the hostess. station. I mentioned the loud discussion from the kitchen and all he said was I’ll look into that. Have a good night. Like he didn’t know? It was his voice. Nicolette the server was amazing. She was very busy. She apologized for the wait on ordering. She apologized for our food. She apologized for the plastic cups. She was serving customers, making drinks for the bar, and busting her butt. She was absolutely amazing. The part of the earlier conversation I overheard sounded like he wanted her to do more with carry out orders. Believe me this young lady was doing everything she could to keep up and take care of her customers. If anyone deserves a write up, it’s the manager who was on duty. In case he doesn’t know, (having been a manager for 20+ years myself) you never have the kind of conversation he was having we’re customers can hear. I hope Nicollet bases this review.
