This place is pretty good because of the food is 4/5 in the range that this restaurant is in. The service is pretty good very friendly and comes by fairly often.
The reason why I give this place four to five stars instead of 5 out of five stars even in the kind of category this restaurant is in is because I think the price is are definitely too high compared to the level of food you're getting and the quantity of food you're getting.
And I wouldn't make us think of it if the prices were 10 or 20% too high but literally I think the prices are probably 30 to 40% higher than they should be. For example, most decent meals are in the mid-20 to high $20 range and you don't even get a lot of food. These are not big portions at all. Nobody on the planet would call these portions big. They're moderate at best. This is not a place that you're going to overeat. They're $25 meals based on the quality of food which is pretty good but not out of this world and definitely based on the small portions should be $5 less if not $7 less and at a place that is extremely well priced and great value would be $10 less. So at $25 dish and another place should be $15 or $17 max. That's the level of overpriced that outback steakhouse is. The problem is I have a feeling the management either has very little say in this or not at all. But I could be wrong maybe the management is pricing these meals.
Maybe the meals are overpriced based on the decent quality but pretty low portion size because in the on season when the dam snowbirds come then this place probably gets packed because it's the type of restaurant that definitely older people probably come too. So my guess is it's overpriced because the demand shoots up 6 months out of the year and then for the other months when the place is empty most of the time they don't adjust the prices.
That being said you're pretty much guaranteed to get a decent meal here and there's very low risk of getting anything that's really terrible I just think it's still overpriced especially considering the portion sizes are moderate at best if not a little bit smaller than moderate. I like big portion sizes if you can't tell. If I'm going to pay for food that is 30 to 40% and maybe even 50% overpriced then at least give me large portions where I can take the rest of the meal home and get nearly a second meal out of it and then I don't mind at all. But if you're going to price something nearly 50% too much and all it is is one square meal and I'm hungry in 4 hours, that's when you know you're overpriced.
That being said the place is pretty clean even the bathrooms are usually pretty clean and the servers are nice so far I have not had a terrible experience or a bad server or terrible food.
To the management if you're reading this lower the damn prices please. If you lower the prices I will literally come three times more often. I kid you not I will come 300% more often. I will spend $300% more money at your restaurant If you even lower the prices by a third. Or what's probably better for you is just increase the food portion size. You need to increase the portion size a minimum of 30%. If not 50%. If you increase the portion size 30 to 50% you will have me there three times more often. And I mean literally three times more often.
The meals are just too small. For example, the size of the potato is small to average at best when it comes to size. The toppings on top of the loaded potato is extremely sparse. It's literally barely enough to even qualify it as a loaded potato. Like literally barely any less and people will be saying what the hell is this This is not a load of potato because it's literally got one tablespoon of sour cream on it and a tiny sprinkling of cheese and an even tinier sprinkling of bacon. So whoever is designing the portions in this place is making sure the cooks keep the portions to an absolute minimum. The only thing that isn't kept to an absolute minimum is the refillable sodas. But make sure you ask for half the amount of ice because you're going to get a glass that's...
Read moreIn 30 years in the service industry I have never been tempted to leave a zero tip. I struggled leaving less than 20% last night, but I assure you are server did not earn one single penny of it. Marisol, a small blonde girl, greeted our table after about 5 minutes of sitting. I can get over that. She seems annoyed that we do not know what we want already. And that we have not ordered an appetizer yet. About 10 minutes later a completely different server brought the drinks to our table. Also fine. I love teamwork. But with no further word she disappeared as well. Now we're unsure which server is ours. Mind you the restaurant is almost completely empty at this point. Both hostesses are in the back giggling and gossiping with servers. Ours included. No manager was seen the entire time we were there. Nowhere on the floor or behind the bar whatsoever. Despite the fact It's 6:30 at night, so a full staff is on. After we get our drinks we sit for another 15 minutes before she approaches and takes our order. Our meal consists of salad and entree. No drinks to wait for at the bar, no appetizer, no dessert. We were in that restaurant for 2 hours trying to get our food. And of course every item brought to the table was brought by someone other than our server. Again teamwork. Great. But a quality check back at any point would have been enough to tell her that no we did not want to box. Which is the only other thing she offered us the entire time. Once we got the food it was cold and dead as it had been sitting in the window for quite some time. No apologies were offered. Instead many more helpings of neglect. Once the meal was finished, we waited another 15 to 20 minutes for her to re-emerge from the kitchen to give us our check. Funny enough the actual cashing out the check was the only quick process of the entire evening. I realize that restaurants are short staffed at the moment as I have been in the industry my entire life. However, I find that this is an excuse for poor service and quality as of late. This might be the most ridiculous display of poor service I have ever seen in my life. I don't believe I have ever sent a Karen review or email before. But will be following up with this one everywhere I possibly can. For a chain restaurant with standards you should definitely check into your training process a little deeper. Not to mention some actual quality control. I find these problems often start with management. Perhaps start there. I love to tip big because I've done the job for so long. It's too bad I couldn't find anyone worthy of that tip in...
Read moreIt was awful tonight. Waited to be seated, even though restaurant wasn't half full, hostess said she had to check with the kitchen.? Got a booth, and had bread and drinks brought, with no silverware or dishes, and had to wait for our server to go to a table close enough to ours so we could get her attention and get dishes and dinnerware. Jay, our server was nice, but complete incompetence. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with French fries & steakhouse Mac-cheese, Bf ordered prime rib steak with baked potato asparagus and of course the blooming onion to start. His food came hot, mine came cold, all of it. I couldn't eat it, besides being cold, the steak on this sandwich was as close. To leather , than I care for. No way it was prime rib cut. So I sat & watched him eat and waited again to see our server just to get a couple boxes. Which she came back with one! Seeing I hardly eaten anything and a half blooming onion left, as well as my BF HAVING most of his food left, anyone else would have brought more than one box, which at this point the food is going to the dogs, but there's not enough brain cells working there to bring enough boxes, or refill empty glasses, or do anything close to what a sever would have been doing. To have people waiting for dishes and silverware so they can eat their appetizers then waiting to put order in, waiting for food, waiting for refills to then having someone fromT the kitchen bring you your food, which is cold and Bf was missing his baked potato, then wait again for refill, and then have another server bring whatever else was missing and refill drinks, 2 people helping 1 server, when the restaurant isn't busy at all, and the food was cold, not what was ordered and incomplete is not a way to keep customers
Very poor service, horrible food and a reason to not go back there. Save your money and go where there are qualified people with a higher IQ they'll have better food...
