This Mexican Restaurant is a restaurant to pay attention to moving forward. The staff is very friendly and the food is equally good. This was the second time we have eaten here...and both times we were positively welcomed and satisfied with the meal(s). The music is "modern" and pleasing to the ear...which makes for a pleasant evening. The owner was very modest and openly admits that it is "not yet" a 5-star restaurant...but give them time 😉 Now with Mestizo's being closed...they have a massive pair of shoes to fill. I believe, given that they have be able to "open" and remained "open" throughout this pandemic...I would like to see...and hope...that they will be successful in filling that now open void on the missing Mestizo's. If I had any suggestions...I would say to serve the "bean dip" in a small bowl instead of on a plate, look to improve the salsa with more of a pico de galo style, and add more art work...the blank walls come across a little sterile...and lastly...make more of an "event" for those celebrating "festivities". Thank you for the Tequila...but a picture moment lasts 100 memorable years! A Sombrero pic is a moment many will never forget for an entire life time. Make the whole "moment" more "family oriented"...and something everyone will look forward to next time. Serve glasses with water as you sit your guests. The general rule of thumb in gastonomy is a guest should have something to drink within 30 seconds after being seated (along with a menu)...even if it is just water 😉. The staff needs to be "more open" and attentive. The waitresses almost came across as "shy" when there was nothing to fear! Just be there for your guests...and not hide behind the register. Make sure if you serve chips with salsa & bean dip...that the guest do not have to wait & ask to receive a "refill" as they still decide what they are going to eat. A more in-depth drink card with a refined Tequila Selection would also not be a bad idea. The owner is simply amazing and is outgoing and friendly. Keep it up...you are most definitely on the right path. Consider adding "live latin music" on Fridays & Saturdays to attract more guests. This was by far NOT the last time we will going there...and we look forward to a beautiful festive atmosphere for years to come. See you soon...and I hope to experience more festive events...
Read moreDecent food, horribly out-dated tasting flat soda, and the worst service I've ever had. I brought my family in for my Mom's Birthday and the only interactions from the two lady servers was taking our order bringing out our dishes, (with one order completely wrong) and ringing us up. While the server with the red hair was handing my mom her very hot plate with mine in her hand still she proceeded to lean over to the extent where my head had to be ducked down nearly in my Moms lap to avoid the hot plate touching my face. Not once did the servers come by to ask how the food was and if we needed refills on drinks. The only smile from the two waitstaff I saw the whole dinner was the two of them in the register area looking our way and laughing. I get that sometimes servers are having an off night, but the poor service has happened each time we have been in but giving the staff the benefit of the doubt we came back. Customers lost for good after this experience. Train your waitstaff on good service and safety so someone doesn't get...
Read moreDon't let El Patron's unassuming exterior fool you. This place is a hidden gem where the focus is squarely on the food. It's not about flashy decor here; it's about authentic Mexican cuisine that speaks for itself. Each dish feels like a labor of love, likely because it is - the family that runs El Patron is always there, greeting customers and overseeing the kitchen. Their presence adds a personal touch that's as warm and inviting as their food is delicious.
The menu might not be pages long, but what El Patron does, it does exceptionally well. The Steak patron is a must-try, with perfectly seasoned meat and shrimp. And if you're feeling adventurous, ask for their daily special. It's always a delightful surprise.
In short, El Patron is the kind of place you visit for the food and return to for the hospitality. It's a reminder that sometimes the best dining experiences are the ones without the frills. Just great food, made with care, in a place that...
