Ordered the chicken flautas app as my meal and a skinny marg that was advertised as being made from fresh squeezed limes. Ugh, I hate when I can't say everything was amazing... but aside from service, the chips, salsa, and Pico de Gallo, it wasn't amazing.

The chicken flautas that are supposed to be deep-fried were undercooked, soft, and soggy. The shredded chicken filling seemed to be the cause for the sogginess, but the guac was so flavorful! The skinny marg with fresh lime juice was overly sweet and tasted syrupy, absolutely no fresh squeezed lime taste or texture at all.

I'm hoping it was just an off night, but every dish that had shredded chicken was pooling in liquid, while the chicken itself was dry. Others at my table got Carne Masada tacos which they ate and were happy with l.

There seemed to be a good amount of locals coming in, so I'm sure they have dishes that people come back for so we may give it another try the next time we're in town.

Newest update: 4 times in 4 years ownership/name changed. Each time it seems to get worse. Now also the prices went up. I can name 4 places in Skagit county with both better quality and lower prices, and one of them is in Sedro. I've included that in my food rating since there isn't a rating based on price. If the prices were lower then I'd have given that 3 stars instead.

old review: I've eaten at Don Rafa's twice since it changed from Mestezos. I have to say it is a vast improvement. This is now my favorite Mexican food in the area. The staff has been friendly and fast. The prices are better than most other places. The portions are high. I can't even finish the smaller combos. They are also great about providing plenty of extras. A good amount of chips and salsa. Guacamole and sour cream were included without asking.

Unfortunatly this went back to Mestezo's recently . They are still ok, but I think that Don Rafa's had better value for the price. If I don't want to travel, I'll still go here, Burlington has 3 places that I would...

Just ate at this restaurant tonight I was a very big fan of the food due to previous visits this time was extremely dissapointing the customer service was terrible I ordered shrimp in a red sauce with vegetables which on previous visits was made deliciously this time it was watery very bland the shrimp tasted like water with bits of sand in it when I made them aware of the problem I had 3 servers ask me what the problem was I then was greeted by the manager (who had an attitude) switched it out and then brought it back out and said he didn't want to waste it and that I would need to wait for another plate and I agreed when the second plate had arrived the taste wasn't much better ! When the bill came I saw I was not compensated for their mistake nor apologized to !! Due to previously being a recurring customer with my family I expected better treatment and service sad to say I will not return or recommed this...
