Three Rivers Inn Hotel — Hotel in Sedro-Woolley

Reported many stuck on TAR splotches to management, on entry and bathroom tiles, AND in the tub that we didn't notice when entering, (later found blackened fingerprints on back of bathroom door and black smears on the wall next to the tub/shower. The room/motel is old but room had apparently been adequately cleaned and bedding changed. Someone cleaned all surfaces but did not scrub. I was able to scratch a small tar blob off with my fingernail.

It was late and my son and I were already settled into a room with two Queen beds. We were offered a choice of two other rooms that were a higher price than ours for the price of our room. Neither had two beds. So, we would have to repack and move to a different room, neither of which had a second bed, so my son had a choice of a couch/hide-a-bed or a love seat to sleep on after a 9 hour drive.

I did not demand a clean-up. I said we would skip the shower in exchange for a good night's sleep in a real bed for each of us. I merely asked for a discount on the room we were in, since I was offered one of two more expensive rooms at a discounted rate. I was told that since the motel was filled to capacity, (except for the two empty rooms I was offered for a discount I guess), that was not their policy (?). All that could be done was a much less comfortable room for a discount. They would not have been able to rent out my room anyway if I moved. So, since I offered to stay, (with a proportionate discount), they could still have had two rooms to rent out for full price!!! Was still told no.

Almost forgot, It was a bit chilly so I turned on the wall unit heater and since we were trying to eat I had to turn it off immediately because it smelled really terrible. Maybe some attention to an over used filter or a good cleaning?

Hence, my very first less than stellar motel review.

As for you response, it makes no sense. You say you already gave me a discount, (AARP I believe), on the first room and can do no more. In offering me a more expensive room for the same price you offered an additional discount!!! Common sense says there’s no reason why that additional discount couldn’t have been applied to the room I was already in (which was not cleaned properly). Terrible...

They only had 2 Handicap type rooms but my Sister didn’t ask she chose because of Cost per night and had a 2 store rating but she didn’t know that . The only really not so comfortable about this place was the Bathroom wasn’t up to date with the Toilet being very low for older women that are used to much higher potty . When we went into room , 1 Hand towel 1 wash rag , when my Sister went to bathroom having to use a Walker she almost fell when getting down to the toilet. She started crying and it was very upsetting.

The Mgr Kallie was a great support person and good Customer Support, she wasn’t able to fix the Biggest issue but we were able to resolve it . 2 days I asked for hand towels and both days I was told the towels were in the Dryer .

Now I liked the place it had pleasant surroundings, Great Location , nice yard with pool and gazebo so cute for summer . They are remodeling and believe it’s only been owned by the New owner for less then 3 yrs . With COVID and places being closed , Maintenance and Remodeling has taken awhile . Great Location and good people at the Desk not so sure about the maid service one was really nice . I would stay again if I could get Handicap accommodations . We were with a group of people who booked almost every room in this hotel during a holiday weekend (4 nights). The hotel was not prepared at all for the holiday travelers. We booked a double room with 3 adults. Our room had 2 bath towels & 2 hand towels. The hotel said they didn't have enough towels to give us any more although we had 3 adults who needed towels. One adult had to dry off with a hand towel and same 2 towels for 4 days!! Carpets were filthy. Bare feet were stained with dirt if you didn't wear shoes on the carpet. Shower curtain had mildew along the entire bottom. Tub didn't drain & was clogged with hair and muck...which we had to clean because housekeeping didn't service rooms. The A/C didn't cool...just blew stale air. I would NEVER stay here again. Our organization books rooms here every year and have not had these problems. but we were told there are new owners.
