Selah Mining Company — Restaurant in Selah

My boyfriend and I have been here twice since they've opened for breakfast they have the best chicken fried steak which is what my boyfriend ordered it is huge they say it's 5 ounces in that it's the size of the plate lengthwise I have biscuits and gravy the best biscuits and gravy I have ever ate and I ordered the half order and I could not eat it all it is huge last week my daughter took me to lunch I have the beef brisket she had the pork belly we sampled each other's food the pork belly is out of this world the beef brisket is so tender it literally melts in your mouth this is now or go to place when we go to eat service is excellent it's a very relaxing atmosphere I have to say I am so glad Sheila mining company is back my late husband and I used to go eat there quite often and the food is absolutely delicious always has been and still is I love the place the service I just can't I can't say enough good things if I could give this restaurant the cooks and the wait staff 100 Stars I would I'm telling you people if you haven't tried it you don't know what you're missing you have got to try it breakfast lunch and dinner...

I grew up with the Selah Mining Company as a landmark with ok food and really cool ambience. I never went to Daniel’s, but I am glad they brought the SMC back. We went to lunch today and had a great lunch. The pulled pork sandwich was phenomenal. I was expecting some good barbecue pork, but was blown away by the fact that they grilled the pulled pork on the flat-top to give it a bit of a crunchy char. Amazing. Food came out fast, but not too fast, and they have kept a lot of the old SMC charm, except I missed the mining sounds when entering the “mine” entrance ( small stuff). I would like to see the center “banquet hall” looking tables replaced with something a bit more fitting a great barbecue and steak place, and the wait-staff needs a bit more practice to iron out the kinks. Their wait staff was amazing!! Now that being said. Their prime rib had an odd flavor me and my family both agreed. The fat was inedible. I had posted on Facebook a simple I didn't like it and thought they used liquid smoke. Literally was attacked from there. Have plenty of screen shots to show how rude. They were because they didn't like my feedback. We were gonna try again in a few weeks and thought maybe it was a fluke as we where looking for a replacement place for our large family gathering we used to have at sea galley.
