I just want to start by saying I have never left a negative review for a small local business before. I don't want to harm small businesses. But this place was so awful I felt I needed to make an exception. From the start, the table is sticky for some unknown reason. I can look past that. No big deal. But what I cannot look past is the lack of service paired with the expectation of a tip. They ask you to scan a QR code on the table in order to order your food. This is an incredible security flaw and anybody can create a similar looking website and cover the sticker with their own QR code. Redirecting the customer to the malicious site. Harvesting the customer's credit card information. After ordering, the food is not brought to you. You need to guess when the food is done and retrieve it yourself. There was never a text or email. So I am unsure why they ask for both when you order. It may be to sell your information but I would like to offer the benefit of doubt. Once again a tip is requested. I wouldn't mind this sort of service (except for QR code) if a tip were not expected. Now onto the food. I ordered a pork sandwich with fries. The pork was some of the most bland food I have ever tasted. I wouldn't be surprised if I had learned there was no seasoning used during the cooking process. Not to mention it was remarkably dry. It felt as though I was chewing on a handful of sand. The fries were okay, although hardly salted. Despite all of this the food is very overpriced even if it were good. The only redeeming factor was the beer. It was decent, but nothing to write home about. The beer was also rather expensive. They measure by liter, which I find strange for a tavern/pub. Regardless, after converting to pint. It was $7 for a single pint. That is steep for this area. I would not recommend anyone go here. Selinsgrove already has many brew pubs to check out, at much higher quality, and much...
Read moreThe food was good. Nothing to complain about at all, but nothing to get excited about. I was really happy that it was hot and delicious. I got the macaroni and cheese bowl with pulled pork on top.
I got a side of Mexican street corn salad. I don't recommend it. It was basically just the corn mixed with mayo. It tasted like macaroni salad.
The service was legitimately terrible though.
You seat yourself, which is fine. Our waitress came over, took our drink order and dropped off our drinks.
We sat there for ten minutes waiting for her to come back and take our order before we noticed the easy to miss instructions at the top of the menu instructing us to order our own food from the qr code. Would have been great if our server mentioned that.
So... You have to place your own order and go get your own food here.
Fine. I'm ok with this if it's easier to understand it.
But then... My drink went dry.
Our server walked past me 7 times (I counted) without asking if I needed another drink, or how our food was... Nothing.
If you're looking for good BBQ with 100x better service just go...
Read moreI recently visited for a casual evening out, and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The ambiance was welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that set the stage for a relaxed evening with friends. The selection of beers was impressive, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes.
However, I noticed that the temperature of the beer was slightly warmer than I would have preferred. While this didn't ruin my enjoyment, it's an aspect that could be improved upon to enhance the overall drinking experience.
Additionally, I found the state of the bathroom facilities to be lacking. They were in need of an update, particularly in terms of privacy. Improving the bathroom amenities would undoubtedly contribute to a more comfortable environment for patrons.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I still enjoyed my time and would consider returning in the future. With a few tweaks, it has the potential to become an even more enjoyable spot for socializing...
