We went here with high expectations but Isabella did not impress. The service was slow 45 mins to get my cocktail came after salad was served. The place was busy but on Saturday that should be expected. Reservations should be adusted to good staff vs customer ratio. The rolls it seems were made from pizza crust dough. I LOVE crab and ordered not only crab stuffed mushrooms but crabcakes as well. As soon as I tasted the stuffing in the mushrooms it tasted fishy like it was stored near or in same refrigerator as fish. It had no lump crab meat I wanted to change my entree. I asked if it was too late, of course because the appetizer took an hr or more to get to the table. The mushrooms themselves were very good. My husband enjoyed his Calamari Arrabiata appetizer. The salad came, and it was lovely. The cracked house peppercorn dressing was wonderful. My husband had the blue cheese and liked it. Entrée: husband steak and lobster duet. He said it was good steak, not melt in your mouth Filet but good. Lobster was good. From menu on internet today. $48. We were charged a surcharge of tail $25. So his meal was $75. Now, we are used to paying $$$ for good food but when you say duet it means 2 things for the price. I asked the waitress about this showed her the menu on line and she said we missed a disclaimer on the menu in house. The waitress should have noted this to the customer when he ordered. Ok. Maybe If the service had been better we would blown this off. When prices change you should change the prices on your online menu that is on your own wesite. My crab cake was the same stuff that was in the mushrooms. Tasted fishy. Made from shredded crab I dug around in them and found no white lump crab. They did have about 5 pieces of lump crab patted onto the out side of the cake. They were not seared or broiled. The vegetables were very good. It came with pasta and that was great linguine with a beautiful fresh tomato sauce. The tiramisu was very good. So my take away. Order the specials or in an Italian restaurant order Italian. For $188. Dinner for 2 including tip, I expect 5 star service and 5 star food. Isabella was no where close. To the restaurant limit your menu so you can do less things but do them well. We will never go back...
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice. They had a live piano player taking requests. The service was friendly. I think our server was newish but they were very nice.
The menu is good. A lot of choices. One weird thing was that they had no seltzer water. Also the two drinks that my girlfriend got were first very weak and then really strong.
The side salad was just mixed greens with some tomato and a balsamic vinaigrette. The bread was pretty good with the garlic butter. They had an issue in the kitchen I guess and things took a little longer than expected. I get it things happen and we didn't really mind. They were very nice about this as well.
My entree was good. I liked the sauce and the shrimp and crabmeat but the veggies weren't good. My girlfriend had a steak that came with the same veggies. Steak was okay and the veggies were not.
One thing I was a little confused about was the lack of gluten free options. I know that an Italian place isn't exactly going to be gluten free friendly. We only had one choice though. Off the whole menu. It was just a little surprising.
Overall I think this place is pretty good. The old bank atmosphere is cool. The piano player was really nice and our waitress was too. I just think we may have come on...
Read moreGlass in your food? Have a cannoli! We just left this place. My wife had the pasta Isabella and about 4 bites in, she jumped like she was shocked and this was accompanied by an audible “pop” sound. She spit out her food to find a little piece of blue/green glass in her food. See the pic of it that I took. I flagged one of their staff over, who then got our waitress. The waitress apologized and took my wife’s food away and said it will be just a few minutes as they make a new dish. After a while her new dish came out… and it was the wrong meal - the rigatoni vodka. Similar but very different. She had a few bites anyway and decided we were done. Got the bill, and I told the waitress the replacement dish was wrong. They offered us a free dessert. My wife got glass in her food and never even got the meal she ordered. I can’t believe they didn’t comp her meal at least. I’d be appalled if this happened and I worked there. Not here. They gave her a cannoli and shrugged it off. Pathetic way to handle glass is a patron’s pasta. I had the pork tenderloin and it was...
