I came with 4 others, The place was crammed which was a plus, thought maybe it was good service and food causing it. We eventually get a swat, the waitress was nice, but first time being here, had to read the very top and bottom of the menu to understand how to order, you HAVE to order with QR code. Then you have to go pick your own food up from the window, silverware as well. It threw my table of people off (all adults) when you place the order, it asks what table you’re at, so you expect to be able to have it delivered at least since it asked. The waitress comes shortly after you’re seated and offers you your drinks but that’s it. You have to pay right away for your meal as well. You have to pay with a card. The QR code (online way) wouldn’t allow to pay with cash. Oh and drinks are not paid on that payment, so have to find out if the drinks are paid for too. We said atleast try the place even if it’s a one time try, and sat here one of the people from my group got her food first, she was able to eat her whole meal before any other food was ready, still have yet to get another drink, (currently sitting still waiting as I type this) had to go up and tell them we needed more drinks. (Non alcoholic). he baked beans have an alcohol flavor along with the pulled pork, not terrible but when your not expecting it as well as not one for beer flavored food, it makes you not want the food. (I didn’t get it but I tried one of the others at my table) I had the pulled pork nachos, it doesn’t give the option to opt out for chipotle sauce on the nachos. Which I eat but not a lot of, I took off the jalapeños and the option was to substitute for fries, I didn’t realize it meant substitute the nachos themself for fries. So I paid 17 dollars my self for loaded fries….more less, had to go up to the bar and ask about our soda, never had the server come back at all again... (It’s not bad but it’s not what I expected either, would I come here again… if someone asked if I would return , sure… but it wouldn’t be a main choice.. never had the waitress come back, in the hour of sitting here… this was the outcome, hope this helps. Again the food isn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I...
Read moreOverall not a big fan, I'll plan to try them again in a year or so since it's a new business to see what has improved!
Pros:
-Axeman Tavern (separate business) has very friendly staff who helped you figure out how to order from Smokehouse Fixx.
-Ordering process was easy and food came quick.
-Cole slaw was good.
-Bathroom was clean.
Cons:
-Overpriced for the quantity/quality of food. We ordered the shareable meal for two, which is pictured on this review. That and two waters cost $45. We left hungry, and the food wasn't good enough to order more.
-Pretty bland/non memorable BBQ. Even the horseradish sauce was bland. Cornbread was super dry.
-You get your own food at a pickup window, which is fine but they don't offer paper plates, so we had to eat out of ripped up to go containers.
-They are family friendly but don't have a diaper changing station in the...
Read moreNo one in my party was impressed with the food. It’s a little pricey (by Selinsgrove standards at least), and nothing we tried (a burger, the pulled pork sandwich, a chicken sandwich, and the tacos) felt like it was worth the price. All of us felt like we could either find a cheaper & better alternative at a different local restaurant or make the food better at home. The Axemann Tavern had excellent service - they had a worker coming around to take our drink orders and make sure we were happy with everything - but the lack of waitstaff for the Smokehouse made ordering food annoying, and we waited on the food just a bit longer than we’d expected. The patio seats are great though, no complaints about atmosphere. Would only recommend this location for the drinks from...
