Never been to this store before, but I love the one in Charleston with which I've had dine-in and delivery experiences. So, I was excited to try this one. After we chose our menu, we got our bottled drink from the cooler; not sure we were supposed to do that, but they didn't give any prompts ... so, we did it. (In Charleston you make yourself either a fountain drink or tea/water, ice... with free refills.) We sat at a booth and waited, not very long. A lady came to us with a to-go box(?), set it on the table and said our pizza would be right out and she thought we'd like to go ahead and have our cheesy bread. We opened the box and it looked really good -- came with small "to-go" containers of ranch and marinara. It was too hot to try to hold on to, but we didn't have any plates. My daughter went to ask for plates but before she got to the counter, she happened to see a stack of paper plates and plastic wrapped plastic forks & knives. Which is fine that they want to do it that way..but, they really need to inform customers. As odd as it felt to eat in a restaurant from a to-go box, the cheesy bread was very good. Then came the Garden Pizza with added grilled chicken. In a box(!). (In Charleston, the food is served on a pizza plate with the little pie server you need to get a piece because it's hot.) First warning sign was the pizza was so tough she couldn't cut off a bite with her plastic knife. The grilled chicken tasted like it had been frozen. The mushrooms were canned. The tomato slices were pretty but had absolutely no flavor. For a nearly $20 pie, one would expect fresh ingredients. The crust was hard, difficult to chew, and actually hurt my throat to swallow it. (In Charleston, the crust is almost the best thing about the pizza.) I ate almost the entire slice, but just couldn't take any more of it. So, to get the taste out of my mouth, I got a small piece of the cheesy bread. Not fresh anymore, but it's just bread, right? And, we had closed the box, so... It just wasn't good when it's not hot. We packed up our plates and napkins for the trash bin, got our bottled drinks and pizza boxes, and left. It was simply a bad experience all around. Except for the young man that took our order. He did a great job, even though it was only his 2nd day on the job. Oh, and the olives and onions on the pizza were good. Down the road we saw a couple of beggers. They gratefully accepted...
Read moreWell it appears that I am not the only one who has had a problem with Marcos sudden decline. Truly makess me sad. My Family have been customers for the last 2 years and while they are pricey we have always seen it as a well deserved treat. Tonight I ordered an XL pizza which was supposed to have sausage, ham, mushrooms and tomatoes and 10 garlic wings as it was just my Dad and I as my husband is out of town. For one pizza and 10 wings we paid almost 50 dollars not counting the delivery and tip. When the pizza got here the box was sealed with the receipt which had the right order on it however, the box didnt seem like it was a XL that we have gotten before. when I openned it up I could see that the pizza in the box had no ham, no sausage, no mushrooms and no sauce. It had onions and what appeared to be bacon. I immediately called the manager. Who, while not rude, seemed to know exactly what happened because she asked me what was on the pizza I received and asked if it had Tomatoes and then said "Im really sorry about that apparently what happened is we accidently switched the pizzas and you received another order" I said oh someone else got ours. She again apologized and then said have a good evening I told her the same but she had already hung up. Not one offer to make it right Just an oops and lets move on. So I paid 60 dollars including everything, for a pizza that was not what we had ordered at all. I dont like onions and I definately wanted sauce. Not sure what has happened over the last few months but apparently Im not the only one. Its too bad really but unfortunately we will not be customers after...
Read moreLove the food! (when I can get it!) Amazing. Awesome pizza.
I ordered tonight and 20 minutes later they called and said they don't have a driver for delivery.
I explained that I have a broken leg and cannot drive. I asked what I should do. They said they would cancel the order and I would get a refund in 3-5 business days.
Fine. I get it. But, I live 0.8 miles from the restaurant (and explained that to them aboyt having a broken leg and not being able to drive -- hoping someone would bring it... nope). Ok. No worries. I get it.
Then I called my son who was not home at the moment to see if he would go get it. He said yes.
So, I called back, they already cancelled the order, have my $40+ tied up and said I would have to re-order. lol
I'm not spending $80 to get one pizza and breadsticks tonight (including taxes and tips).
I would have been fine if they just offered some sort of solution. But they didn't even try. That is what weirds me out. They were just like, "Sorry, can't do it -- even though we are within walking distance". And when I called back to try to complete the order, "nope, order again.".
All good. Everybody had a bad night. Their food is actually amazing. But... come one guys... try to make an effort on a Monday night. You're not slammed....
