Southern Steakhouse — Restaurant in Seneca

We ate at Southern Steakhouse for the first time this evening and it was great! We had a delightful young lady named Mattie as our server and she was very attentive and helpful without being overly obtrusive. My wife had a house salad with salmon, rice and broccoli which was delicious! Perfectly grilled and large portion of salmon and a crisp, salad with a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Broccoli is broccoli but healthy. My ribeye was huge! Again, cooked perfectly medium rare with grilled onions and mushrooms and enough to bring some home with the half of the steak I couldn’t eat. Excellent baked potato that was hot, fluffy and obviously freshly baked. Again, healthy broccoli as a side. My steak was very tender and flavorful and hardly any fat which is unusual for a ribeye! While the atmosphere is dated and plain, it is pleasant and very clean so fine with us. With food this good, not sure why anyone would want to eat at a national chain! My family and I went in Southern Steakhouse and waited to be seated. 3 adults, 1 child, and one newborn. We were taken to a booth. It seats 4 people. We had nowhere to put the baby and we were not asked if we wanted a highchair. We also had a diaper bag and asked for either a bigger booth or a table. The time was 4:30 PM and there were only 3 tables with anyone at them. The whole place was pretty much open. When we asked for something a little bigger, the hostess went to the corner booth (where the waitresses were sitting) and asked. She came back and said we could not because of a party. Mind you, unless the party is 25+ people deep (and the place is empty), plenty of tables were available. There was no party accumulating and nobody waiting. Southern Steakhouse was not helpful or accommodating. The staff were rude. We left and went to Copper River where they had more people and yet they were more helpful, friendly, and their food was great. Really bad service at...

Great Food and Service at Southern Steakhouse of Seneca

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Southern Steakhouse of Seneca. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.

My wife ordered the burger, and she couldn’t stop raving about how juicy and flavorful it was — cooked just right with all the classic fixings. I had the flounder, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to a light, flaky finish. I paired it with fries and a side salad — both fresh and satisfying, especially the crisp greens and house dressing.

Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole night. One small detail that stood out: she brought the check directly to my wife. It might seem minor, but we both appreciated the thoughtful, modern touch — it didn’t go unnoticed.
