I have been here twice now and this has been my observation both times. While the food is excellent, the bussing/register staff both times I’ve visited seem stressed and struggling to maintain the level of customers in the cafe as well as a cheerful attitude.
The first time I visited, I was confused about how to order lunch — when you walk in, it is unclear where they want you to order your meal and if you stand at the bakery section and try to order, the staff can be a bit snippy in directing you to the registers where they want you to order anything non-bakery. Perhaps a sign explaining this would be helpful to customers.
I watched the same thing happen today when I visited with family members and one in our party wanted to order a slice of pizza. One of the staff was a bit rude in telling her to order at the register even though there is pizza sitting in the bakery case— it’s just confusing for the customer to know where the appropriate spot to order is especially if you haven’t been there.
Finally, while my meal was great, our table was bussed fairly quickly and I felt like they were more concerned with clearing us out to keep up with the heavy flow of customers. This space just doesn’t seem big enough for how many people it serves. Between that and with subpar attitudes of staff, I don’t think I will return when the service has been much more pleasant at other spots in Cranberry such as...
Read moreI was looking forward to Mediterra in Seven Fields as I love their Sewickley store. Atmosphere at the Seven Fields location is very nice, great space. I came in for breakfast "Breakfast of Champions" for $15 gets you a slice of bread, 2 eggs, 3 skinny slices of bacon and 1/2 Avocado, which was not ripe and hard and you have to put your sandwich together yourself. The server banged the plate on the table. I asked for silver ware and she got "I have to get it". I asked for salt and pepper as none of the food had any spices on it. She told me I had to get back and get it. Was in a corner that didn't look like it was supposed by accessed by customers, right outside of the kitchen. So service was rude, food was not worth the money. Go to Bartram's Cafe or Bloom Cafe and you get better food for less money and also a...
Read moreLunch with a dear friend at Mediterra was a delightful experience. I ordered the turkey sandwich—house-brined and slow-roasted turkey layered with creamy Havarti, zhoug (a vibrant, spicy cilantro sauce), lemon aioli, fresh tomato, and mesclun greens, all tucked into hearty Heartland grain bread. The sandwich was outstanding. The zhoug added a bold, herbal kick that was beautifully balanced by the bright, tangy lemon aioli—I couldn't get enough! To drink, I chose the honey rose specialty latte. It was subtly sweet, delicately floral, and incredibly satisfying. My friend opted for the shakshuka—simmered spiced tomatoes with braised eggs and fresh herbs, served alongside crusty slices of baguette. She found it perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat and loved every bite. We look forward...
